Momentum gives Blu-ray access to HD DVD only US content!

According to dvdtimes, Momentum Pictures over here in the UK, as well as other UK distributors, will be publishing on Blu-ray disc (see 17:15):

This is absolutely wicked news!!

They have a few titles that are HD DVD only in both the UK and US at the moment!!

Paramount own the distribution rights to all the CSI shows in the US, for example, whereas Momentum Pictures distribute the shows here in the UK!!

Not to mention such things like the Terminator 2 HD DVD they recently released over here (with the Director's cut ) that will more than likely now come out on blu-ray too!

Good day for Blu!! The Momentum news, and the Silver Surfer/Die Hard BD50 news is probably the highlight of the 5pm conference for me!!

Alliance Atlantis (Toronto-based) owns the rights to the CSI shows outside the US.

Touchstone bailed on Viacom at the last minute, and Alliance Atlantis stepped in with $75 million to co-produce. It has made them a FORTUNE. Like $60 million a quarter recently.

So, the Momentum Pictures distribution deal is with Alliance Atlantis.
