"Sales figures for HD DVD and BD standalone players (no games consoles) are shown. HD DVD appears to have made a comeback of late, but it's fairly equal.

A pie chart is shown comparing BD and HD DVD installed base, this time including games consoles. According to the chart, BD has 94% of the market."

Wow.

That's may be for Europe (David Walstra, Director Sony Home Entertainment Europe)

HD DVD was behind in Europe in standalones?!

Default Warner's

Wait a sec, so all of Warner's BD releases in Europe have been region free? Is this a Warner thing, or a European BD region thing? And if so, would those BDs be able to play in NA players?

All Warner Bros. BDs are region-free (worldwide) and work on any BD player.

Sad to hear HD-DVD and Blu are tie in Germany, but that should change this holiday season in our favor I feel.

Why is that sad when the overall install base is 94% blu-ray when PS3 is included? A lot of people are using PS3 as there entry into HD viewing. The fact that standalones are even is embarrassing to HD-DVD.
