Default Why does Warner favor Harry Potter on HD DVD?

I have read on Highdefdigest that the hd-dvd version will have some kind of interactive IME where people can connect at the same time they watch the movie and one host can control the movie ?
I'm not too crazy about that option because when I watch a movie I don't want someone else somewhere to pause, stop, fastforward MY copy on MY tv through the internet and as far as I understand, this is the equivalent on Bluray of BD-live which is not implemented so far (by the way, why ?)

But the second favor Warner will give hd-dvd is PIP commentary wich will be exclusive to hd-dvd and won't be on the Bluray version. This one I would have liked to have. Don't get me wrong, I would never get the hd-dvd anyways, as I actually went to France today to get the Harry Potter 1 to 4 on Blu today which I planned to do anyways. (Cause it won't be out in Belgium until January)

But WHY is PIP exlusive to that crappy format ?????

PS: as I was in Lille today (France) at the biggest store downtown called FNAC, they had these 4 spaces for HD, 3 were for Blu and only 1 for hd-dvd

Well I don't think the bonus view feature for Blu-ray was ready in time.

It is not really that Warner favors HD-DVD, it is that the features are already in place and ready to use on HD-DVD. From what I know, HD-DVD launched with those features. If Blu's PiP would have gone live a bit sooner, we only have one player on the market right now, maybe Warner would have included that in the Blu release. I would have been nice if Warner showed more love for Blu and did a higher better encode for thier Blu releases. We have the space and bandwidth for better video and audio.

PIP isn't going to be supported until the Java update in late december/early january. AND the only disc that will do it is Resident evil: Extinction. I worded that wrong, it will be the first, obviously probably more to come after that.

I thought Sunshine was going to be the first. But maybe it is Resident evil. Jan 2 is when Bonus View stuff is supposed to start hitting shelves I believe.

Somebody else controls the movie, that is an idea so foolish that I could only envision it as being on hd dvd.
I barely let my girlfriend touch the remote.

The thing about these types of special features PiP this weird internet chat while watching a movie...etc...is that they look really cool, they sound really cool...but personally, I'll never use them. As much as I'd like to...it's about a 90% chance that I won't even check it out.

A lot of the time these features have more swing with me than they should...but they still couldn't make me stray from blu.
