Default HD DVD will die a slow, painful death.

Having already been once involved in a start-up co. going against large & established companies, I see many parallels between BD and HD and my own experience.

Despite overwhelming evidence showing BD sales worldwide outperforming HD by at least 2 to 1, the HD camp still is perisisting in a vain effort to survive. I can only imagine the whooping & cheering that must have gone on in some boardroom somewhere when the $150M Paramount bribe was announced. The management of my former co. also cheered when someone threw them a bone, thus prolonging the fantasy that they would be successful but at the same time ignoring the writing on the wall.

One only has to look at the sales of BD worldwide vs HD DVD to see the writing on the wall. When the end comes for HD DVD it won't be pretty for anyone who had a big stake in its success.
