CANADA!
Default Question from a noob to home theatre!!!

OK... so I purchased these speakers for my fronts just this past weekend:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

And I have this amp (not the greatest, I know )
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...088594&catid=#

Im curious my speakers actually have 4 speaker inputs (if that makes sense) 2 red, 2 black on each one.... my amp has connectors on the back for FRONT A and FRONT B... Im curious can I hook each speaker up to the four inputs... does that make sense?

Does that benefit the sound at all... or does it just make it "louder"....

Thanks in advance for your advice!!!

Cheers!

nice speakers. No it will not make the audio sound better/ louder. If anything you may blow your speakers or fry your amp. I would not recommend it. It is unnecessary. I have never heard a difference. Skip it and just get a better receiver.

Biwiring! There's a lot of freaky religious beliefs about this on audiophile sites. It always sounded like Vulcan mysicism (bogus science) to me but many in the biz swear by it. In short it's not needed to get things working but if you're interested in the research, start with a google search with just the words "biwiring" and "audiophile".

i.e. More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Bi-Wiring

Best of luck.

Interesting... thank you!!! Ill read up on it... So its not advisable to hook up all 4 connections from one speaker to one amp? So from the sounds of it... theres not much diff. in having 2 or 4 bindings connected on one speaker then?

The 2 reds and 2 blacks behind each speaker are already "bridged" together (with a piece of metal)...so you only need to send one black and one red to your receiver. If your receiver supported bi-amping..you would have to remove the bridge and send two different speaker cables to two different amps on you receiver.

Did I lose you?

It's easier shown than explained. But if your reciever supported it it would show you in it's manual. It might explain it in the speakers manual.

The point of this is that if you bi-amp you will have 1 amp powering the drivers and on amp powering the tweeter. Thus, elimanting your speakers internal crossover (boy, more technical jargon). The receiver will then handle the job of the crossover. Ok I just lost myself.

In short, don't worry about.
