France Any chance of a review of "Sailor et Lula" (Wild At Heart)?

Any chance of getting a review of "Sailor et Lula" (Wild At Heart)? The forced French subtitles are a pain -- people are talking region free mods to players all the time, how about a mod to remove forced subtitles?

Great film, finally in BD.

If you are patient, you will be rewarded with a UK release. Soon.

But will we be rewarded with the UK Pound dropping back to about $1.39 to the pound? Or the Euro dropping back to about $1.20 per Euro? Or Amazon postage from France to the US dropping from $10 a disc (seems like) to maybe like $10 per shipment of several discs? These are all very profound questions.

Do you know this for a fact, or are you just making a reasonable assumption based on releasing patterns? I'd love to get this film on BD if and when it does come out in the UK.

Yes, this is not an assumption. The title is in for consideration.

Any new info on this new release?

International or USA theatrical version?
Optional subs?
English friendly extras?
Format 1080p24?

Anyone have it yet?

Just got this today !

It includes the censored version of the shot of Bobby Peru (with smoke). The film is 2h. 05 min. 11 sec. long. I don't know whether it's region free.

Video :
- 1080p24
- AVC @ +/- 32 Mbps (same as German release I guess)

Languages :
- English DTS-HD MA 5.1 (16-bit judging from bitrate)
- French DTS-HD MA 5.1 (16-bit)
- French subtitles (removable) & menus only

Extras are all in 576i (PAL) in English with French forced or burnt-in subs, except an interview with Bernardo Bertolucci which is in Italian with French burnt-in subs.

VERY INTERESTING.

I bought BOTH the new UK and the new FRENCH BDs of Wild at Heart (Sailor and Lula), and they are not the same. One might have thought that Universal would just put out the same version in both markets, with slightly different language options and artwork

But, NO. The UK version has menu interfaces for every language on Earth, it seems, except French, and several alt dub tracks. It HAS NO SPECIAL OR BONUS FEATURES AT ALL!

The French version has only a French interface, only French and English audio tracks, and only French subs (optional, not forced). UK disc seems to be region free. FRENCH disc seems to be REGION B locked.

The French "Sailor & Lula" BD (the new one, from UNI, not the old BAC disc) also has a whole slew of extras, interviews, little featurettes and so forth. The UK disc has a slightly higher bit rate, and the picture might be just slightly better on that account. Both discs looks solid and are an improvement over the prior WaH French BD.

So, I'm glad I bought both of them.

discking,

I have the Australia disc which from your descriptions appears to be the same as the UK disc.

But although it is stated to have 5.1 DTS HD-MA, the dialogue comes from all three front speakers, much like a 2.0 track would. Are you please to check and confirm if the UK disc has this as well?

Great review on the UK disc of "Wild at Heart". Any chance of a review of the new French market "Sailor & Lula" which, unlike to UK disc, is filled with extras, interviews and so forth?

True. But until Dr. Svet has spoken on Blu-Ray.Com all other insights are preliminary...

Besides, that DVD Beaver comparison is with the old BAC French disc of "Sailor...", not the new Universal French disc, which is very different (although the extras are mostly the same as have been available on some past DVD editions)...
