I can't object to having more Corman on blu, but I wonder if TT will produce any sort of extras.

Love this one. The old DVD wasn't anamorphic, if memory serves.

The score is great, although much of it is source music. There are a couple of sinister themes composed by Fred Katz (THE LITTL SHOP OF HORRORS).

The old DVD was anamorphic, at least it was in the Classic Crime Collection Street Justice box set.

I used to have the standalone release, and it was widescreen, but I don't recall it being anamorphic. I can't speak to the crime box version. Anyway, I no longer have that DVD, so the Blu-ray will be good to have.

Looking forward to this.

I think that when I had the old DVD of this film, I probably hadn't gotten my first HD TV yet. That's probably why I recall the DVD as being letterboxed rather than 16X9.

Funny nobody mentions Jack Nicholson's uncredited part of a hit man.

Well, this one looks and sounds great. Not surprised given Twilight Time's standing rep.

My copy may be arriving in the mail today, just in time for Valentine's Day. Of course, my girlfriend may not consider that film to be an appropriate "romantic evening for two" flick. Darn her!

The Blu-ray.com review says it’s washed out. Just like Love and Death. Just like Fright Night (v.2). Not liking the encoder Twilight Time began using this fall.

For a better movie including that incident, one has to have the Rod Steiger movie, Al Capone. He is much better than the miscast Jason Robards. Unfortunately it is not on bluray yet. I don't know why it's taking so long to come out with it.

Steiger is undoubtedly a better Capone but I would certainly argue that Al Capone is a better movie than The St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

Both movies are true to their titles...the former prioritizes Capone's ascension to power in gangland Chicago while the latter is specifically about the people and events involved in the notorious slaughter.

I'm a big fan of Corman's film. Not only is it fun and colorful, with a superb round-up of stars and 60s character actors, but it's astonishingly accurate with regards to historical fidelity.

Robards is perhaps the biggest WTF casting in history, but he's never unwatchable and he doesn't ruin the film.
