Default BR drive or PS3 ?

Ok, i have about 6 hours to make my mind up and order.

I really can't decide what to buy, so help me decide please.

I will be buying this pc tonight:

Intel Q6600 2.40GHz Overclocked to 3.00GHz
Asus P5N-T Deluxe nForce 780i (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR2
Asus GeForce EN8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

I either buy the standard:
Samsung 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter

or

LG Blu-Ray ReWriter/HD-DVD ROM/DVD Lightscribe ReWriter for £140
more.

Now, i have little interest in recording in the BR format, and i'm only interested in playing selective 1080p BR movies/docs.

I kinda think the BR drive will be somewhat outdated in the near future as regards to speeds & limited as for upgrading to any new BR enhancements.

My other option is to just buy the Samsung 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter, like i said, thus saving £140 & buying a PS3 which i can get for £280 . I will not be buying any PS3 games!

I'm guessing the PS3 is far more "future proof" than any pc drive is ever going to be.

So what do i go with ?
