do you use normal shipping? 7-11 days, does it really take that long
when i order from them I usually do Expedited , 4-6 days, but i usually get it in 2-3 days. anyone know how long normal takes for you? did you get TAXED? WHen i do Expedited i never get taxed. maybe cause its express? |

I've purchased a lot of Blu-ray from Amazon, and mostly the regular shipping. I have never been taxed once. I think this is why the shipping is high. It's built in there. Gary |

If you order from amazon.com, it ships out of Ontario.

What is the shipping cost and do they allow you to pre-order like in the U.S.?

I never bothered because I thought I'd get taxed. What's the incentive (or even the point) to order from the .ca site then do you think?

I get expedited shipping to Australia (i.e. miles from anywhere) and usually get my delivery within 6 days if that helps.

Amazon.ca I think tought that canadian will buy from them cause its near our cities and they tought it will cost less for shipping . But their big mistakes is that their prices are too much . YOU HAVE TO ADD TAXES AND IT HURTS A LOT. WITH AMAZON.COM YOU DON'T PAY TAXES THEY SHIP REALLY FAST EVEN IF YOU TAKE THE NORMAL SHIPPING . THE EXCHANGE RATE IS REALLY SMALL THESE DAYS . LIKE I SAID ALL MY BLU-RAY COME FROM THEM AND I SAVE LOTS OF MONEY . ![]() ![]() Last edited by Neo; 08-10-2007 at 01:22 PM. |

I'm in Canada too, but the prices are considerably higher on the .ca site. with our dollar almost equalling the American dollar, you can save a few bucks ordering from the states. And in my situation I also have to drive a half hour to buy blurays. With current fuel prices being high, ordering off the internet turns out to be many dollars cheaper, and I don't mind waiting a couple days longer.

I just ordered Planet Earth Blu Ray for $66 US dollars plus shipping yesterday. Much cheaper then the $89 canadian we would normally have to pay. Im in vancouver so hopefully it wont be too long.

I have over 40 Blu Rays and I have not ordered a single one from amazon.ca. Most are from amazon.com and then some from ebay. Even though .ca has free shipping over the certain amount, you still save a considerable amount from .com even when you have to pay for shipping.
Whoever thinks ordering from .ca is better just please open both .ca and .com and compare the prices. The dollar is almost the same and the prices are on .com are much cheaper. I dont think there is much left to be said. |

Mostly, it's some of the newer titles like Disturbia you may save a little on but overall, it's not that big of a difference. What I'm saying is that Canadians are better off buying most Blu-ray titles in the stores, not from Amazon.ca |

WHAT ABOUT DUTY TAXES??? Those Canadians who have ordered repeatedly from Amazon.com, were you responsible for any DUTY TAXES involved with importing goods? That is the only thing that matters to me at this point. I ordered $237 (CDN) worth of Blu-ray titles the day of the sale, saved $80 over the .ca price (plus got two more titles!!!), but am worried about customs deciding to balance the scales by charging me out the yahoo hole for importing product from a "foreign country" (even thought the North American Free Trade Agreement exists... dat gum guberment!)

I've noticed that if I purchase a disc or 2 from Amazon.com, I get it no problems. But once I ordered 2 box sets and 2 books all in the same order and had to pay Duty when I picked it up.
I'm not sure if it had to do with the size of the order, or the items in particular, but I was pretty miffed. Yeah, that's right....I said it! MIFFED! ![]() |
