Thumbs up Die Hard 4 - PG-13?

How the HELL did this movie only get a PG-13 rating? This movie had more violence, killing, and language I wouldn't want my 14 year old (& I don't even have kids) repeating in it as any R-rated movie.

Did the Die Hard folks pay someone off on the film-rating assocation. I never noticed when I saw it in the theater cuz who cares? I'm a grown man. But when members of this forum made a big stink about the rating on the BD, I took notice when I watched the Blu-Ray. Most violent/grown-up PG-13 flick I've ever seen!

ps. movie still kicks major ass! I gotta watch the F-35 scene again...

The PG-13 rating is the same like the theater version,
so,... what should they do ?

they already cuted the movie

...And I still want the unrated version...

I suggest you watch a film called "This Film is Not Yet Rated"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Film_Is_Not_Yet_Rated

Which the MPAA gave an NC-17....gee what a shock

Find me a 6 year old that doesn't know the F-word. Whether or not that's good for society is debateable, but certainly that shouldn't result in an R rating

That movie is great, pisses me off but it is awesome....And not to mention how many stupid parents bring their kids to see R rated movies at such young ages. When Crank was in theaters some young parents brought their two kids (under 7) and during the trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning the kid started crying, it was so stupid.

You must admit, R-rated cinema is only marginally different than prime time television. The subject matter is certainly no different.

Well when I was little my mother use to take me and my friends to R Rated movies. My parents and my friends parents could care less if we watched R Rated movies.I still Recall seeing Die Hard 2 in theaters when I was 12 and I remember loving every minute of it.

They're parents out there that don't care. I've seen parents go in to ebgames with there 12 year old kid to get Grand Theft Auto. I'm not a parent but I wouldn't dare buy my young kid something like that. It's true what blackhawktraffic said and I'll add something to that. Find me a 6 year old who doesn't know the F-word and I'll show you a pig that can fly.

I thought it met all the requirements for a PG-13 movie. If you want to see a good example of PG-13 vs rated R then watch Aliens vs Predator and then go watch Aliens vs Predator Requiem next month. Night and day when you compare the two. I only know because I've see some uncensored trailers floating around the web.

Yeah exactly, the game thing is just as bad, as sadly enough most parents wont even let you explain to them why the kid shouldnt be playing it.

I dont think it was such a bad PG-13, there wasn't much blood at all and the cussing was kept to the use of "shit" mostly, there is a PG-13 movie out there with like 45 F-Bombs in it, although it is a documentary so that does changes things.

Yeah i know about horrid rating rules of the MPAA...the movie I am talking about is Gunner Palace, originally rated R but they petitioned it to get a PG-13, and yeah it totally defies their 3 or more F Bombs is an R Rating.

Default Die Hard 4: It should be a R-rated??

I agree on the cus words. PG-13 movies can ONLY have one F-word in it. Check with the MPAA site, if anybody is interested.

My whole point of the post was the level of voilenc (blood doesn't = violence) in the flick for a PG-13 rating.

I'm glad I don't have kids cause there are some tough decisions to be made concerning kids watching some of today's movies.

ps. Happy Turkey Day to you all who celebrate Turkey Days on this forum.

Yeah good point but you know how it is Americans love their violence or they just find it ok compared to nudity or sex in TV/Movies. Happy Turkey Day as well everyone.

Officially it's one, but it depends on context. "F that!" is fine, while "motherfer" is right out

PG-13 is what R used to be....

I saw the Unrated DVD edition. It really isn't that much different, to where I'd want to wait, i am buying the blu-ray tomorrow. I really don't see why people are so hung up on the rating to where they are getting all enraged and boycotting this blu-ray release....well to each their own I guess.

How about "Unclef--er" (South Park movie)? (Outrageous scene w/ 6-yr-olds and bad language.)

I went to look for this movie last night on blu, even knowing it's not un-rated, I still bought it anyways.

My first time viewing, and I enjoyed it. PG-13 or not, don't matter. I support my blu.

It's really sad though when I ask the guy for the movie, because it was behind glasses.
He was like "Live free or die hard on blu-ray, what do you mean?"

Very sad.
