Disney Cars 3D Blu-ray (2006) [Region Free]

Cars 3D Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray

A new 3D edition of the original movie Cars , is re-rendered in 3D for a Blu-ray 3D Ultimate Collector's Edition release on October 29, 2013.

Guess Disney hasn't stopped 3D re-rendering of older 2D features. Probably this time to help promote the Planes 3D theatrical release.

Cool. Though I wasn't a fan of Cars 2, Cars 1 was more enjoyable story wise, and was the main reason I was convinced to buy a blu ray player/PS3 after seeing that opening race scene on an HDTV in Best Buy. The resolution was awesome.

I'll consider this, thanks.

I'm hoping for a 3D Alladin, and Rescuers Down Under 3D, which are unlikely.

Aladdin would be tops! My favourite Disney movie and makes the most sense to convert to 3D other than The Little Mermaid. Good 3D potential.

Good deal, I've never gotten around to buying Cars 2 or watching it. Maybe I'll scoop both up. I wish they would go ahead and release The Incredibles in 3D!

as much as I am not completely enamored with this film, I do think technically, the current blu looks and sounds amazing! Hope the blu finally has either the original matrixed 6.1 mix or a new 7.1 one (implementing and stereo-izing the EX/ES sound stems that is on the DVD release).

I agree. Although Cars is my least favorite Pixar movie (and animated Disney movie in general), there is no denying the picture and sound of the blu version (which I have..for my kids...back when they liked animation movies more than they do now, lol) is excellent.

I look forward to reading the reviews. May give this a shot when it is released...if the reviews for the 3D are good.

Looking forward to Cars 3D (I've actually never seen the movie.), but I second these requests. My Disney 3D wishlist is Aladdin, Wall-E and Ratatouille.

I'd imagine with Aladdin's success over the years (and its cash in sequels), the odds are good that we'll see Aladdin in 3D one of these years so long as Disney continues to support 3D.

For the scenery and imagery, Cars definitely will look great in stronger 3D. I can imagine that scene in the forest with the leaves on the ground, as the red car (Owen Wilson) chases the aqua green car. Forget their names.

the best part of the film IMO, where there's no dialogue whatsoever.

SWEET! I actually really enjoy this movie even if it isn't Pixars best. And i also really like Cars 2 actually. Its not meant to be their best, and i felt like it was like the studios vacation project where they could just have lots of fun and experiment

Bring on Incredibles 3d and A Bugs Life 3d!!!!

I'm in too. I didn't care for the second Cars but once Cars 1 got out of the race scenes and hit the highway I got into the whole South West look and location for Radiator Springs. They hit the nail on the head with the look of the small town and the mountains and ranges outside of town. This should look good in 3D so I hope Pixar doesn't hold back on the depth and a few pop-outs if they can find it in their hearts.

I'll have to watch it again. I think Tomater (the tow truck) is a love or hate character. Especially in Cars 2 where he was the main character.

Good way to look at it. They may have set their new talent to work on it, or secondary crew. The animation, look was great, though the story has room for improvement compared to their other movies. Cars 2 feels more like a spin off movie.

Yes, hopefully they've taken note of the 3D forums online, and cranked up the 3D compared to their prior, more mild 3D efforts.

I thought that Cars was just okay, and Cars 2 was passable. However, after visiting Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, I am thoroughly brainwashed. I feel like I've been in that world and now have a strong, positive connection to the movies. This will be a day 1 purchase for me.

I liked Cars quite a bit, but I'm not sure it will benefit much from a 3D presentation. Cars 2 was terrible and I have zero desire to ever watch it again 3D or otherwise. Planes looks positively dreadful from the previews, but of course you can never really tell until you see it. A flying movie certainly has a good chance at visually dazzling 3D effects, so it might be worth it from a 3D fan perspective even if the movie itself is weak.

This doesn't sound right?? We're 3 months away from the supposed release date and I've never heard anything regarding this?

I would think they'd release it in theatrically. It would be too big of news for us not to hear anything by now.
