Eliza Dushku To Star In TNT Pilot 'Bird Dog'

Always enjoy me some Eliza Dushku, and TNT is known to really give their shows even struggling ones a real shot, so this sounds like something that might have a chance. But for me it will definitely hinge on who's cast as her father as well, I recommend Clancy Brown . Interestingly, I've read about quite a few shows that seem to be heading up my way, probably just so they can shoot in Canada and call it Washington.

Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku is returning to series television as the female lead in Mike Robe's TNT drama pilot 'Bird Dog' a mystery fashioned around an unlikely partnership of two cops who happen to be father and daughter. It centers on Gail McGrath (Dushku), who followed in her father's footsteps in becoming a police officer but had little else in common with him. She left the big city she had grown up in to move to a small Pacific Northwestern town where she was patrolling the streets until her dad, a NYC cop, showed up on her front doorstep to join her as her new partner. Now this father-daughter team, call sign "Bird Dog," is being put to the test -- not only in solving crimes, but with each other. Robe wrote the script and is directing the pilot. Warner Horizon is producing. Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna Dushku, repped by UTA and the Collective, recently guest starred in a highly-rated episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Hopefully it'll be good, cop shows tend to suck, I really want to see Dushku on TV again on a regular basis.

No cop show will ever even scratch the surface for me after the brilliance of 'The Shield' but I enjoy Southland and Hawaii Five-0 when I have nothing else to watch.

I'm going to leave the rest alone, but good call leading with her name. I would have had to read too much to get to her name otherwise.

I'm glad this is going to be on cable, which will hopefully give her a show that actually lasts. I loved both Tru Calling and Dollhouse, but of course neither one lasted on Fox. It took me a while to get over what Fox did to Tru Calling.

I watched both because I like her and have since middle school when I discovered Bring It On but I have yet to love any of her shows. It always comes down to me watching because of her.

I actually forgot she was in Bring It On until I started watching Tru Calling a few episodes into the first season. I still can't believe Fox renewed it and then cancelled it pretty much right after the second season started.

I didn't remember it was her specifically in the movie until I looked her up after I started watching Tru Calling. That was what I was going to say.

That movie is worth a purchase just for that scene, though it is already firmly imprinted in my brain a full decade later.

You're right. I own the movie on DVD, but it would still be nice if they would have released it on Blu-ray already.

No offense to Eliza but the cash in her bikini string really completes the look, I do believe this would become the first show ever that I watch regularly on TNT.
