1st Weinstein film on Blu-ray: Hard Boiled - Blu-ray Forum

Is anyone going to get Stranglehold for the PS3? It includes a Blu-Ray film Hard Boiled by Weinstein. Also, is Weinstein going to release this film on Blu-Ray as a standalone film?

Is it actually going to be on Blu-ray? I had taken that it was just going to be a read-only file for the PS3 and not an actual blu-ray disc.

It's not a separate disc for the movie, but the BD contains the game and the movie in 1080p. Haven't heard anything about the audio.

They only did the audio for Stangle Hold in English if they were only going to do it in one language I would prefer they did it in Cantonese with English subtitles.

I rented the dvd and wasn't happy finding out is was not in English. If it is like that on the game disc i will buy the game version only disc.

I will buy this on BD only; I do not want the game. I am more of a RPG and RTS type of gamer.

I have always been a bigger fan of The Killer, but any Blu version of a Woo classic is a must have for me. I want to see those doves in HD baby!!! It will also be the first time I buy one of those special edition versions of a video game, but for once, I believe the extra $10 is buying something worthwhile.

What's wrong? Can't read too good? You should go to The Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too. Just to freshen up on your reading skills.

I heard the subtitles on Hard Boiled were actually dub-subs so I'm avoiding it for now. I'm hoping they'll change that for the BD release but I'm not holding my breath.

Hard Boiled isn't a Weinstein Company title, it's a Genius Products title. The Weinstein Company owns 70% of Genius but they do not control any of the home video decisions for any of it's divisions or brands they distribute other than their own. This shouldn't be taken as a sign that TWC isn't HD-DVD exclusive anymore because Hard Boiled isn't a TWC controlled title.

Genius, Inc. have said that they are neutral and will release Blu-ray titles. They control Dimension who has on on the schedule. Genius, Inc. and Weinstein distribute their movies through the same company but as you said, Genius, Inc. makes their decisions without Weinstein.
