Default No Love For David Lynch?

Not even ONE of his movies on Blu-ray in the US.
How about Blue Velvet for a start?

You could import "Dune" from France and turn up your subwoofer for the thumpers

My top desire would be for the Elephant Man. Everything else he's done is a close second.

It's pretty ridiculous that we're this far along into the format and the only David Lynch film available in the US is Dune.

Think the interest (even in the early Lynch films that made sense--yes, Eraserhead made more sense than Lost Highway) pretty much cooled after Lynch turned into a loony diva and insisted on no chapter stops for his disks.
Fortunately, that didn't seem to apply to his more conventional corporate studio sellouts like "Elephant Man" and "Dune", but it hadn't exactly kept him friends with the industry.

I'd certainly get Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead if they make it to Blu. The Elephant Man is available in the UK region-free.

Definitely wish they'd release more Lynch on BD in the States. But considering it took until 2004 before MGM would even admit to owning the DVD rights to Wild At Heart, and over a DECADE to get a U.S. DVD release of Lost Highway, I'm not gonna hold my breath for a plethora of Lynch on BD anytime soon.

Of course, Europe already has BD releases for Elephant Man, Dune, Wild At Heart, Fire Walk With Me, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire...70% of Lynch's feature film output. Meanwhile, we have...Dune.

Why is everyone so hung up on a US release?
If there is a region free option from the UK, what is stopping you?!

I really wait for the TV show "Twin Peaks" but it would be kind of nice to have American releases of "Mulholland Drive" and "Lost Highway", too.

Am I the only one who wants the greatest David Lynch series to be released on blu ray? (even though it wouldn't benefit at all)

Perhaps our collective love will conquer all!

Couldn't agree more. Almost makes me want to renounce my US citizenship and head back to Europe after all these centuries! (but from what I hear the transfers are not great) Can we redirect the resources for the upcoming LOTR extended version trilogy and devote them to a Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Lost Highway boxed set??

Hope to see more from his daughter too, I picked up her Surveillance earlier this month.

I didn't care for Surveillance at all. I watched it probably six months ago, and I remember thinking that some of the filming was kind of cool (reminded me of David Lynch), but the actual plot was incredibly mediocre.

I might add that I usually have two parts alcohol with my Lynch, and that goes for his daughter as well. You might have liked it more if you used this recipe.

I'll concede its not going to win any academy awards, but I just have a real soft spot for twisted movies. The world needs more of them, makes me think beyond the movie.

Price, fear of the US getting a superior release, awkward packaging/coverart, fear of compatibility issues, etc.

count me in for an Eraserhead release. Not a big fan of his work but that's always been one of those movies that is hard to forget
