Not likely; HMV Hong Kong charges even more--and it's not even 100% clear they have the Hong Kong version. (HMV HK lists its distributor as WB; though it's a WB film, Deltamac distributed it in Hong Kong per both YesAsia and this very site.)

Have you considered the UK version of Happy Feet instead? It has an uncompressed LPCM 5.1 English track; TrueHD is just lossless compression (like a Zip file) of LPCM with a few Dolby mixing tricks (i.e., dialnorm). This site has confirmed it's region-free and fully compatible with U.S. players--no surprise since it's a WB release. And its Amazon UK price (£7.99) works out to $15.68 shipped to the U.S. at ACC exchange rates.

RBB, i did look at it =). i actually shop at amazon uk QUITE A BIT than i ever have because of BD (like masters of cinema series).

according to google, £7.99 pounds works out to be around $12.16, £3.08 shipping cost to me ($4.70 roughly) comes to around 16.86, add to that roughly $2 to exchange GBP->USD (yes my credit card does charge $ to do it), comes to around $18 to $19. which ain't 2 shabby compared to the HK @$32.

but i actually do like the HK for the extra chinese subs which i appreciate cause i can read them and they're cool for when i show them to my parents who can't speak ENG. it wasn't so much the TrueHD vs. LPCM question as opposed to subs option, plus it's basically region free for all countries every release in the world of this movie.

but is it worth an extra $10... is the question.... lulz. if the HK was closer to 20 somn, i'd grab the HK.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was just looking into different releases of this film (due to the recent US price drop),
and I found out Play-Asia is selling the HK edition for $20.
