I think that's possibly a sign that it's coming out soon, at least moreso than them just having a page up like they do for stuff like Princess Mononoke
Although they've had The Birds up forever with a price to pre-order and that still doesn't have a firm release date edit: just noticed someone else mentioned The Birds |

They do this all the time. Basically as soon as something is "announced" they will put it up for pre-order. With PS3 games basically as soon as the major trade shows are done (E3, Gamescon) they will put up pre-order listings for all the newest games. Sometimes the announcement source is semi-official (not OFFICIAL-official) and they will run with it (see the Harvey blu-ray which had a release date and everything, then it got pushed back). But they don't just pull products out of their butt that don't exist. |

On a similar note, some studios (especially small ones) will announce a BD to gauge interest, then use the response to decide whether or not to release the BD. Meanwhile, though, Amazon lists the title.
