Just a quick thought. We all know that part of the deal for Paramount/Dreamworks going red was that Spielberg's directed films would also appear on blue (am I right in saying The Godfather's too?).
Anyway - I assume all this will be managed by the studio's - in this case Paramount. Who is to say that they won't release a sub-standard version on Blu-ray - lacking any kind of special features, no uncompressed pcm, poor video quality (or even SD DVD quality) onto their Blu-ray disc releases??? Who could stop them doing this? Or even only releasing a limited number of copies? It could be argued by them in any of the above scenarios that they kept their end of the bargain - I know it's not necessarily good business but dumping Blu wasn't good for business either...and they got $150,000,000 which could be pay-off money for pretty much anything...... |
