This one is good, but Come September needs to be released to go with this and the Hawks

Mentioned this in the 'Man's Favorite Sport' thread, so very pleased to see this getting a blu-ray release too. 'Come September' is the better of the two Hudson / Lollobrigida collaborations imo, so it's slightly strange that's not been announced but hopefully Universal release that with the Hudson / Leslie Caron 'A Very Special Favour' to complete the Hudson 60s comedies collection!

Same old DVD master... better? yes,it's in HD, so that means boosted colors and detail, but the very same defects the DVD had, are present here. Universal keeps being the bottom of the barrel in their treatment of their own all-time classics. (same goes for "Tammy and the Bachelor", same old DVD master upgraded to HD, no remastering, not even wetgating to eliminate dirt and specks, and oh those horrid transition jumpy blurry shots!).
I truly hope they keep licensing their classics to serious companies as Kino or Shout...otherwise we're screwed. |
