Simple but upgrading slowly. Getting a "Wonderwall" projector to try for the WII and PS2.

It's a nice start. You plan on getting matching towers for that center? I'd do that and move the front speakers back and using them for surrounds. What is a wonderwall projector?

Don't think I will get towers. Too much of a pain to run the surround wires. A sub will be the next upgrade. But if the price of c-300's come down I might run it by the wife.

A wonderwall is an el cheapo($99) 480i projector. The wife wants the WII in the basement and off her big TV!

Default New plasma

Just added pictures of the new Plasma TV we got for the basement. Using a dresser as a temporary stand. I thought I would like the height of the dresser but I don't. Will probably get a 20-24 inch high stand some day.

My wife found a Whalens TV stand she liked. The last one at Sam's and partially assembled. Just have to mount the TV and get everything hooked up.

Iwouldn't bother withsuch a cheap projector, unless it's just for playing the wii or similiar. You'll never use it with such a nice tv. Very nice set-up.

We kept the projector for about 3 days. It wasn't worth the $99 we paid for it.

Default Moving components, speaker question

I am moving the components in our family room to the basement to connect to the plasma TV. Should I try to line up my speakers with the panel or is it ok for them to be slightly in front of or behind the panel? Should the center speaker be lined up with the front speakers?

When I have them placed I will remeasure the distances of the speakers(no auto calibration in my AVR).

Default No coax out for audio

While moving components I discovered my Panasonic bd player has no coax audio out. Looks like I will have to move the Sony player to the plasma TV. There is no STB for the plasma so I will have to use optical to go from the TV to AVR and coax from the Sony to the AVR.

I like the sony player better anyway.

Understatement!

And to let you know, I have my speakers slightly in front of my panel ( a few inches), but as long as you keep them consistent - it shouldn't matter if they are placed in front or in back of the panel. I also try to keep my center in line with my left and right so there aren't any funny sound variances, however slight they may be.

Rearranged the components and put the Panasonic player back with the Panasonic plasma TV. Added my son's Xbox 360 4gb to the theater.

why don't you go HDMI out to the TV from the BDP and then Digital Audio OUT from the BDP to the receiver?
