Default Amazon MGM theatrical films without a physical release

UPDATED 4/17:

Since Amazon bought MGM, more and more of MGM's theatrical releases are not getting physical releases on discs.

I'm not talking about streaming movies like Road House, but movies that had a legitimate US theatrical release.

This is the best list I can come up with, let me know if there are titles I'm missing.

(All years are original theatrical release, titles in order of release)

Still under the name MGM, but post Amazon takeover:

2022
Thirteen Lives (limited theatrical release)

2023
Landscape with Invisible Hand (limited theatrical release)
Bottoms - BD coming

Released by Amazon MGM

2023
Saltburn
American Fiction - BD announced
The Boys in the Boat - BD announced

So far, out of four full-fledged Amazon MGM films, only one, The Beekeeper, the most recent, has had a physical release.

I have an awful feeling this doesn't bode well for films like Luca Guadagnino's upcoming Challengers.

We can certainly hope for that.

However, my fear is that Amazon wants to use the wide theatrical releases as publicity just to drive people to eventual streaming, like Apple+ does.

While we're at it, where the hell are the Bond films(without Craig) ?
Apple, Disney, Amazon and eventually all the others will prefer a streaming only world.

The bright side for me? I don't stream, so i'll save a hell of a lot of money!

Bottoms and American Fiction are among my favorite films of last year, and Saltburn was pretty great too, so it's really frustrating that they're not getting physical releases.

Yeah all of those would be instant buys for me, and I'm sure I'm gonna love Challengers too

Also Dark Harvest.

Had a one-night only theatrical release before hitting pay VOD last October. Similar to Bottoms, MGM+ got it for a bit after, until recently when it was added to Amazon Prime.

Can't say I've heard of any of these films but then again I don't go to the movies much anymore. The super limited engagements don't really help the cause. I watched Dune 2 this weekend and all the posters at the multiplex were for films I never knew existed. It's a sad state of affairs for movies.

I saw that one listed, but the one-night-only thing felt like the super-duper-limited releases Netflix movies tend to get.

I really only included the ones with even conventional limited releases for completeness and to show a trend starting.

The main focus is really the wide release titles post Amazon MGM renaming.

The ones from the renaming on all had conventional wide (wide-ish) theatrical releases.

About Fate should be removed then, that was day-and-date.

Amazing!!!

They seem to be giving these films the old-fashioned 6-month window, instead of the modern 3-month window, but at least they're getting discs.

Nothing for Saltburn though, which came out before those two.

I didn't like the film at all, but it had a lot of fans.

Maybe a boutique label has it, like Bottoms.

lol where on earth did that rumor come from and when? Criterion specifically said this past March that Amazon does not want to work with them to release Best Picture nominee Nickel Boys (which they clearly aren't putting out themselves instead), so I'd be shocked if they said "you can have Saltburn though"
