Talking Counteract HD DVD's desperate BlockBuster petition

Hd dvd forums are sending messages to Blockbuster Warner etc to choose sides. I think we should also email them to counteract their petition.

Email Blockbuster to say you hate HD DVD and warner etc and show them what the superior format of choice is.

Let our voices be heard over those of the foolish.

Dear Blockbuster Video,

I’d like to draw your attention to a poll survey that was recently published on AVS Forum. As you know, the Audio Video Science Forum is the pre-eminent forum for experts and enthusiasts of A/V equipment.

Heh, they provide a link to this site showing the Blockbuster decision didn't help them gain any support among blu-ray supporters.

And your decision is not even getting you any loyalty from the Bluray owners either. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=14697
Someone should move the thread so it ends up being a dead-link.

The petition shouldnt sway anyone in the face of statistics.

There petition should read something like this:

"Dear Warner
We would like you to support HDDVD only. While its true that there are fewer HDDVD owners, and we purchase half as many disks as Bluray owners, but gosh-darn-it we love our HDDVD and we think you should screw over all Bluray owners. Thanks"

Yeah..that will go over well

We don't have to sign any petitions.

All we have to do is what we've been doing.... buying BDs.

Whatever happened to the desire on the part of HD DVD fans to have studios like Fox and Disney go neutral and let the consumer decide?

I thought this was funny...

"The full details are below - but in summary, they are as follows:

(1) Contact Blockbuster and tell them you want to rent HD DVDs at their stores!
(2) Contact Denon and tell them we want a dual dormat player from them!
(3) Contact New Line Cinema and ask for clarification of their policy! "

Well, I figure most HD players will be dormant before long anyway.. hahaha

I sent an email to Ronee Sass's secretary and she is going to forward it to her. Hopefully that will help. I also sent an email to some other Warner Exec., hopefully this will put a vote of confidence in Blu-Ray.

Unlike Paramount, Blockbuster and Warner actually paid attention to the fact that, "Hey, people buy more of these damn Blu-ray things, so it makes sense to concentrate on Blu-ray!" How sad is it that it's more stunning when logic is used than when it isn't? I don't think anybody's (largely, probably) grammatically incorrect and incoherent ramblings are going to sway either one in the face of Blu-ray's sales numbers.

Making significant changes to policies for rental companies or spec changes for players can cost companies and manufacturers hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. I don't think that petitioning them one way or another could make one bit of difference whether they carry a format or release a dual format player. They base every decision on market research and profit analysis.

In the end, money always talks.

Or better, link to all the threads where they say words to the effect of "who needs Blockbuster, we all use Netflix anyway"... ;-)

No worries guys, some associates and myself are putting together a very complete and professional pro-Blu-ray campaign site as we speak and it should launch next week.

I know there is controvery as to how well these sorts of things work, but it something I am financing and I am a believer in participating in all open avenues in this type of "war." I will post here when the sit launches

I thought they (HDDuds) were gonna put panic in the Blu-ray camp after ParaWhat?'s switch. But they did not know how strong we The BluBlood Community was. Next!

Boy, that sure makes them sound desperate. We just need to keep voting with our wallets. I bought one more BD tonight, planning another for this weekend, I have 3 on pre-order from Warner and two purchased online being shipped individually. The only signature you need to sign, is the one on your credit card slip, before you exit the BD movie store of your choice.

That's rdjam's site. Same old same old.

If New Line is truly "format neutral" like Warner, then why this sham of a "policy"?
Oh, such subtle ego stroking. How can a studio resist it?
