Default Where are all the September 18 releases?

Just got back from CC, BB, and Wal-Mart. I wanted to support our
"Buy-A-Thon" but new Blu-rays were hard to find. CC did not get ANY new BD in today. I then went to BB and they only had The Condemned in stock. However, they had Troy, We Are Marshall, and Smallville on HD-DVD. What's up with that??? They sales associate said that had boxes running behind and should hopefully have them out tomorrow. I went to Wal-Mart hoping to have better luck. There was one copy of We Are Marshall!!! The Condemned and House of 1000 Corpses were the only other new BD.

What happened today? Where are all the Blu-Rays?

Smallville and Troy and nowhere to be found around here (Tampa, Fl) either. Word is, something got screwed up in the Warner pipeline this week.

I got Troy & Alexander at BestBuy this morning....but I'm hurtin without SmallVille. Hopefully WB fixes their $#!% soon so I can give them my money. I may go get a few more to make up for it for now.

I wish someone at Warner would at least say something to clarify when we can at least expect Smallville in stock!! I hate not knowing stuff!

It's really annoying that the HD DVDs are getting out there bu the Blu-ray's arent!

You guys do realize that between distribution SNAFUS and retailer stock clerks not opening boxes, a lot of these new releases end up sitting on docks and in the back of stockrooms for a week or two. THAT ISN'T RELATED TO BLU-RAY OR ANY INDIVIDUAL STUDIO. If you haven't noticed the issue before with DVDs, CDs, books and anything else you might collect, you haven't been shopping too long. The world is an imperfect place, believe it or not.

Was I the only one who used to go to Tower Records and argue with a clerk for half an hour before they'd go back into the stock room and start opening boxes so I could buy the disc I'd been waiting for? Heck, a few times, they even invited me in the back by the loading dock to help look.

Now I just order online.

I'm not sure that we can be quick to blame the BestBuy employee. I've asked them to search their inventory and that of other stores in town for a particular Blu-ray and the computer had no means of selecting just blu-ray as an option like DVD or VHS. He was able to find the name of the title but unable to tell if it was blu-ray or DVD or HD DVD. The software hadn't caught up with the new format. The poor guy had to ask me if I had the SKU and he could search that way.

I don't know if it has changed for them but I'm willing to but the guy/gal in the trench a bit of slack.

I have a good friend at BB and CC and they looked all over the stockrooms and dock for Blu-Rays. They would not lie about not having them. BB said thry do not know when We Are Marshall would be in on BD. They only received 20 copies of the title on DVD. CC received less copies than expected on DVD as well.

Default What a disappointment - 18th releases

So I have been patiently waiting for this day so I could finally get a copy of Troy on blu ray one of my fav movies. I also love smallville and want to pick up season 6.

So I head to wal-mart. THey dont have either and only have The Condemed so i grab that to support the cause and it looks like a good flic.

Next Im off to Target and they dont have anything new go figure...

Saved the best for last BEST BUY> get there they have moved the blu-ray movies around a bit where they used to be next the HD-dvd but have here own section now ok cool. Where is Troy go ask the guy that works in the media dept. Says he has it in the computer but its not even on the shipping list so who knows when they will get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok how about Smallville and its the same thing. Then to top it all off I go around the other side of the blu ray display and HD-DVD has ALMOST TWICE the display space as well as an end cap. Looks like HD is winning at my local Best buy

I cant believe they dont even have Troy on order............................

Sorry for the rant but I hope you guys had better luck.

No dude, my local CC did not get any copies in today. The store manager at CC is a close friend of mine and my brothers best friend is at BB. My CC received a BIG GOOSE EGG of Blu-rays today. My BB only received The Condemned and A Few Good Men.

It's okay...sounds like a lot of people are getting the same results around the planet. It sometimes helps to get it off your chest and sometimes others, besides who is on here, will not understand your disappointments. Trust me, my family doesn't even understand when I mention something negative happening with Blu-ray. Always good to have people you can come and talk to with similar ideas.

We all had similar problems today. None of the stores had 'We are Marshall'

I found 1 copy of Troy at BB and their computer said none to!!!! lol

They also had 1 copy of Alexander, so I bought it along with Troy.

I may rent 'We are Marshall' to see if I want to shell out $25-30 for it.

Everyone had the same problems today.

Did you check Circuit City?

Wow. Just use the Internet. Go to their site, select the movie and then select the locations. For instance, I can put in my zip and it will shop me what stores in my city have the movie.

Pretty easy.

I hit the new Best Buy near my home for Troy and Alexander this morning. They had a few copies of each.

Glad I went as I wanted to watch them tonight and tomorrow.

My friend at CC just called me and confirmed the distribution screw up. However, it only happened in certain areas. They are having copies sent to the store by UPS tomorrow.

Default Sep 18--A big Letdown

I check Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart today. Target was the worst The Blu section was empty no new release in sight, Best Buy almost the same found Troy,Alexander and House Of 1000 Corpses, Walmart had Afew good Men and Condeme.

What happen to the Best Of Blu-Ray sets and Smallville.

With so many titles coming out on one day for blu ray it sure is hard to find them.
