Now two are left: Susy, recently blinded and still learning how to live in a sighted world, and Roat, a psychopathic killer. Roat wants a heroin-stuffed doll he thinks Susy has. All Susy wants is to survive. Dim the lights, check the door's chain lock, and brace yourself for a chiller as polished as the steel of Roat's blade. Audrey Hepburn earned her fifth Academy Award(r) nomination as Susy. Alan Arkin is pure evil as Roat, master of disguise and accents. Jack Weston and Richard Crenna costar as his henchmen. Building to a heart-pounding one-on-one confrontation, Wait Until Dark belongs to the screen's most memorable thrillers" (David Shipman, The Story of Cinema).

I just re-watched this a few months back and added it to my wishlist. Glad I don't have to settle for a DVD.

I first saw this movie when I was 12 or 13 and there's a moment in the middle of the film when I fell off the couch purely because I was staggered by what a great cinematic moment it was (I include my age because the point is, even then I got it). I'm sure the fans know which one I mean, but I won't dare risk spoiling it for anybody who hasn't seen it, it's a perfect movie bit.

Really looking forward to this BLU. The black levels for the transfer of this film is crucial.

I also saw Wait Until Dark in the theater as a teenager. Most people have forgotten, but there was a gimmick associated with the theatrical showing of the movie. The advertisements all said that the theaters showing it would be darkened to the legal limit during the last 10-15 minutes or so, during the climax. And, indeed, at that point, vending machines and other sources of light were turned off (theaters, of course, were set up differently back then before the age of cineplexes), so that it was completely dark inside the theater.

Oh. My. God!! I literally exclaimed "Holy f*cking shit!" when I saw the thread listed on the home page of the site. Finally some more Audrey on Blu! Great movie and one of my absolute favorites from her filmography. One of my most wanted Blu-ray debuts for the past couple years. Warner Archive is kicking ass, I need to kick myself and actually pick up a number of their BDs.

Finally...

I've seen this film 5x and that jump scare gets me every time. One of the best.

Hopefully 'Love in the Afternoon' is coming in 2017 as well.

Did you say Bad Day at Black Rock was announced? I hadn't seen that. If that's true, FINALLY!!!

I just checked and yes, in answer to my own question, January 17. Great!
