I'm new here so I figured I'd post my system here in the Gallery. I am more into 2 channel music listening, but I like the movies to sound real good too so I combined the two and this is where the system is at now after almost 10 years of evolving.

Speakers: Front, Geddes Abbey 12A these are 12" CD Waveguides; Center, Def Tech 2002; Rears, Def Tech Mythos 1.

Subs: 6 total all DIY. 4 are used in conjunction with the Abbeys so they play full range. They are 1 18" Maelsrom X sealed; 1 15" Dayton Titanic MK III sealed; and 2 12" peerless sealed. The other 2 subs are for LFE H/T they are 15" Dayton Titanic MK III with Exodus Audio 18" passive radiators these 2 subs are tuned to 17Hz.

Amps: Rotel RMB-1075 powering the center and rears; Wyred4Sound ST-500 powering the fronts; Parasound HCA-1200 bridged powering one of the Peerless subs; 3 Behringer EP-4000 powering the rest of the subs, one bridged for the Maelstrom X sub.

Preamps: Rotel RSP-1068 for the 5.1 H/T; Conrad Johnson PV-14 modified by RHB Sound Dezign for 2 channel music listening, this unit has a nice H/T bypass on it. Aural Thrills 274-B rectified 12ax7 phono preamp.

Disc Player: Oppo 83SE modified by Mod Wright Instruments (2 channel analog tube mod)

DAC: Paradisea+ used with an older Mac I-book G-4 500 cds burned with apple lossless.

Turn Table: VPI Scoutmaster with a JMW Memorial 9" arm and a Dynavector Karrat 17D2 cartridge.

Sub management: Behringer DCX-2496 for the 4 subs and a Reckhorn B-1 for the 2 LFE subs.

Power management: Panamax 5500 AC Regenerator, and a Monster HTS-3500.

Video: Directv HD receiver, TV Panasonic TC-P58V10 58" Plasma.

Cables: Multi channel is all Audioquest King Cobra. 2 channel I.C. are Clear Day Cable Silver, Speaker cables for the fronts are Clear Day Cable Silver, the rest are AR 12Ga ofc copper. Power cords are an assortment from different manufacturers nothing expensive.

The rack and speaker stands are DIY.

Hello DWR! Welcome to the HT Gallery Threads.

Let's get your photos front and center. We have guys in this section that are instant gratification nuts! They want to see the photos in an immediate fashion. The thought of having to take the extra step (clicking onto a link) is out of the question! Way too much work!

You have a lot of eye candy there dwr! Especially for the 2 channel geeks!

Hey Dan!

Really glad you started your own HT thread. Other than the movie threads, the HT Gallery threads are some of the most active on the forum. We all tend to congregate here and lots of us follow any number of HT threads faithfully every day. I have no doubt yours will be very popular.

As an aside, I never did make to my vinyl shop today, and it'll have to wait until mid-week now, as he's closed Sundays and Mondays. The VPI looks smashing my friend!

Thanks guys, and yes John I'm sure I'll post a bit here, there are some really nice systems here. And on the side note I put a bid in on a cd version of that album from mfsl, we'll see tomorrow. Sorry about the links to the pics I still have a few things to figure out here

I guess the cat really enjoys the "warm" sound of the rotel amp! Great job on the DIY subs.

Good morning fellas, well Bill we have 5 cats all adopted rescues, and yep all 5 still have there claws and have damaged no gear in 10 years. The only exception to that is the foam bass traps in the corners and it is cheap so I don't try and stop them from "playing" with that, otherwise we have an "understanding" they understand that if they do damage anything I will fix their claw problems myself, seems to work for us.

Funny you should say something about the Dayton subs Raider, I just blew one of my peerless 12" subs yesterday (my own stupid fault) but the new Dayton Reference Series 12" will be here today. Yes I really like the Dayton subs, I feel they are a great bargain.

Hi rpatt, I have been very pleased with the VPI, it is one of the pieces I have never even thought of upgrading, it has taken a long time and some coin too but I finally have a lot of pieces I feel no need to upgrade. But as you guys know certainly not everything is set in stone some of my gear I still do have the upgrade bug.

Did you buy a new driver or a whole new sub? Are your speakers home built?

I bought a new driver. As for the speakers, I designed and built all of my subwoofers. My fronts are engineered and built by Dr Earl Geddes, they are a constant directivity design utilizing a 12" waveguide for the higher frequencies and a 12" B&C woofer. The fronts play ruler flat down to about 75 Hz. From there I use the Geddes multi sub philosophy for the frequencies down to about 20Hz. You can check out his site at Gedlee.com.
