So, I've been thinking about the vita. It looks pretty awesome, no? All I care about is OLED.
![]() But in all seriousness I'm concerned about something. How will the Vita's sales be? The PSP sold well, but lagged behnind the king of handhelds, Nintendo. Well when the 3DS came out, it sold, but not earth shattering. In fact, it's a bit sluggish. I think one of the main problems is that most people don't know the difference between the DS and 3DS (I'm talking about mommy buying their kids the console) as it really hasn't differentiated it self from the 3DS. I think for one the design. When I see the 3DS and try to see it from an unbiased point, I'm like it just has a 3 infront of the 3DS. Isn't this just a special edition of the DS liek the DS lite and DSi? The name doesn't exactly say I'M DIFFERENT like when you saw Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. I read an interview where a Sony exect said he was surprised the 3DS performed the way that he did (but he didn't want to expalin further! ![]() A giant elephant recently walked into the room-cell phones. Or more notably, Apple. I mean, with the iPad, iPhone and heck even android phones their reaching portables at a VERY fast rate. Gameboys and PSPs used to be KINGS of handheld power up until the iPhone. Phones at very best just played Pacman (at least in the U.S.). But now their advancing so fast. In fact, I think for the first time in history handhelds will be old as soon as they get to the market, 'cause 6 months later the Apple A6 is gonna come out! ![]() Now, I'm wondering how is Sony gonna make it self different? It's VERY powerful, but for now. The butt-touching thingy on the back is quite innovating, but could that save it? Of course you can't get Uncharted on your phone, but you can't get Zelda either. Sony can't reallly use the power (quadcore) because technically by 2013 the power of phones will be AT or Beyond the PS3's capabilities. I just fear for the VITA because for a handheld htat just plays games it's nearly $300-just like the 3DS. The most wanted gift for kids in 2010 was the iPad. ![]() So, how do you think the Vita will fare and how will it make it self different from the PSP? Personally, I think remote play is the biggest thing to make it self different. The ablitity to to use your handheld to contiue a game is just AWESOME. and is what handhelds should be. ![]() |
