Default Words on Death Proof

Wow... I scanned through this SD title last night (I'll watch it in full Fri. night) and Tarrantino did an excellent job at re-creating the genre. scratched film, bad edits... bad splices from where the film would have gotten torn or burned. Even the pre-film intro is authentic. He did a fantastic job. Just like those old Drive-in cheap flicks, the violence is gratuitious and a little over the top but that's the exploitation feel of the grindhouse films he's re-doing here. This bugger should be on Blu'!!!!!!!!

Anyone else seen it? Do you think it's worthy of Blu?

I think they should have released the project in its entire theatrical form, as Grindhouse, with Planet Terror included, rather than split them up in the first place. I will only buy it on BD if, or when, that happens.

Thumbs up

I saw the full double feature in the theater and haven't had so much fun watching a movie in the theater in a long time, if ever. I loved it, the whole damn thing. My wife picked up the DVD last night, haven't had a chance to watch this cut yet. I'm interested to see the extended version of this flick, as I am of Planet Terror (out next month). I do really hope they intend on releasing the full double feature one day (on Blu of course), as I will sorely miss the fake movie trailers in between the flicks (hilarious).

I seen the double feature too, not gonna say where since I live in UK, but I seen it, and thought it was pants. Total, utter mediocre pants. It was kinda like Transformers, all over the place, although Transformers has excellent effects, what kinda made it good, Grindhouse, I just wanted it to end, also cos I was dying for a Pi** too.

I want this as Grindhouse. Not separate releases. I preferred Planet Terror. Death Proof's second act was great though.

I refuse to buy this until they do the real realease as GrindHouse. The weinsteins are such *****s and it pisses me off to no end that they split grindhouse up to make more money. Bastards.

I like the second half of the movie...first half bored me to death. To much sitting around talking about nothing. Then again I also loved Planet Terror, which was mostly zombies and things going boom, so it may be an attention span thing.

I'm getting all nostalgic by saying: they don't make them like that anymore. American muscle!! No equal. Actually the new Chargers have a sort of throw back look to them.

Exactly. I saw it in the theater and it was perfect. The trailers in between and everything. It was a really great expierence.

It's lame that they split it up.

I can certainly e-mail you pix if you like! I just can't stick them here and can't seem to compress them.

i loved this movie! i hope it comes out on BD. the music in this movie was also just great, like most other tarentino films. i have yet to see Planet Terror (Robert Rodriguez's portion of Grind House) but i'm sure it won't dissapoint.

Based on alot of indication from The Weinstein Company Grindhouse will be available as the Double Feature version sometime next year, until that time they will only be available seperately in their new longer versions. Grindhouse ended up costing the Weinstein's alot more than they expected when it tanked in theaters and didn't really catch on overseas so they need to try and milk it for all it's worth at this time.
