Default Can I put a floor speaker in the wall and still get the same quality?

I'm going to re-finish my basement and i want to put two JBL Venue Series Stadium 8-Inch 3-Way Speakers in the wall. Will i lose quality and if so, how much? I see in wall speakers... but they don't sound or look as good

AS long as the speakers don't have ports in the rear and you keep the fronts flush with the wall, you should be fine.

It will never be the "same" quality. A speakers position and orientation in the room affect what reflections you hear and the constructive/destructive interference of those reflections with direct sound that went straight to your ears. There are fewer chances for early reflections with in-wall speakers though.

This does not answer your Q, but it is a related topic. On another thread I mentioned to Rob71 that the film DAS BOOT (the restored director's cut) was awesome in surround sound at a commercial theatre. It was a nice theatre with good equipment, but a small commercial theatre, about 240 seats.

With wall mounted speakers you felt like you were in the submarine, with the hull creaking and groaning as it went to extreme depths, then the depth charges, the sounds of things shattering all around, etc.

WHEN this comes out in Blu, I can't imagine watching it and hearing the sounds from floor-mounted speakers. The sounds of the ships overhead (at foot level) just wouldn't cut it.

well actually, if you can imagine this, i am going to dry wall my basement. When i do i want the speakers to be centered in the dry wall, one on the left, tv in the cent, and another on the right. Which reminds me. centre speaker...top of tv or bottom? I'm also assuming that i'll have to insulate around the speakers so they don't vibrate everything else around it (the tv, reciever, etc.)
btw those are the speakers im planning on using

Center: Probably as close to ear height as possible. Refer to:

Surely your neighbors will be getting a much better "reception".
