So I went to BB tonight and the manager had a deal where if I bought 3 of the Klipsch F-2 floor speakers I would get them all for $300 bucks instead of paying the MSRP of $445 each!! It was a crazy deal I had to take. The only problem is I'm kind of a noob with sound tech. Is there a way I can set up all 3 with my Onkyo HT-R550 Receiver? Why are there 4 ports in the back instead of 2 like my Onkyo speakers?! Can i use my 12-gauge wires? Anyone help please

Why do you need 3? your wires sholuld be good though. I have the non-Best Buy models of those speakers, the RF-52's and they are great.
I believe the extra speaker inputs are so yoiu can hook up another receiver to them. Not 100% sure though. |

I can't imagine a scenario where 3 floor speakers would work logically...but stellar deal!! I would have bought them on the spot as well.
The dual inputs ("4 ports") are for bi-wiring - one amp and/or cable run to drive the lows, one for the highs. They should have come with bridges - not sure if that's the right term, but they're solid pieces of metal, probably gold-plated, that connect the two inputs so you can wire them conventionally (see pic). Maybe keep the third as a spare, or sell it on ebay to make most of your money back. There's probably someone out there who needs just one. You could also search ebay for a single & use them as surrounds too. ![]() |

Yeah, I guess...just never thought of a floor speaker as a reasonable center...and is 6.1 still alive?

The F2 isn't a Best Buy model... it is a standard model.

I think he just thought they were a BB model because
1) They were the first to carry them 2) The F3s are BB Flagship model at non Magnolia locations But in reality, you're right robinandtami, they're one of the entry level models from Klipsch |
