Default IGN Misleads Again

Can anybody figure this one out. This is from the review - Graphics
Despite a few moments of slowdown, this is a gorgeous game, especially considering the demands of the replay function. And it's to die for in 1080p. This is from their site also - Published by: Microsoft
Developed by: Bungie Software
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Number of Players: 1-16
Release Date:
US: September 25, 2007
Japan: Unreleased
Europe: September 26, 2007
Australia: Unreleased
MSRP: $59.99

ESRB Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Mild Language, Violence

Features: 16:9 Support, 720p Support, Dolby Digital 5.1, Xbox Live, System Link / LAN, Memory Unit, Custom Soundtrack, Downloadable Content

IGN don't try to make this game out to look like its in 1080p int your review, cause its not. Its like saying the flipping Crash Bandicoot PS3/PSP dl is in 1080p because its upscaled and that CB looks absolutely amazing. Halo 3 is not done in 1080p, unlike MGS IV, because the xbox 360 can't hack it, just face it, the ps3 is the more powerful system. They note slow downs just like LAIR (thats what got it docked big points) and for some reason with LAIR that knocks it down into the 8.0 range despite actually being rendered in 1080p, however HALO is still in the 9s, ridiculous. at least you have a teamxbox link up on your site now so we all know your biased and payed off by MS.

Saw this in passing as well...confused me. I don't think IGN is intentionally misleading people...they might just be stupid.

ive got to disagree. ign constantly misleads people with ratings of 4.9 on a game like lair, now ill admit lair is no halo (in terms of graphical quality it is) but a 4.9 is ridiculous, 7.0 for HS is ridiculous. they own Rottentomatoes and the fact that RT only has an HD DVD section and no blu-ray section just speaks words about who is paying them off. The PS3 can do 1080p graphics and the 360 really has yet to put out a decent game that can do 1080p, at first the 360 wasn't even supposed to do 1080p, but then offered a firmware update to support it, this is just IGN trying to buddy up even more to MS to get some more $ out of them.

The 360 can upscale every game to 1080p, even though the games are natively 720p (save for a couple which are native 1080p).

I'd guess this is what they're referring to. I doubt there's some grand conspiracy to lie and deceive.

What's funny to me is that last night on www.yahoo.com they had a news story about how gamers were complaining about the limited edition discs slipping off the holders and were scratched and unplayable. Haha that's what happens when you use dvd rom as storage. Don't know if this is still up, but worth a look and a good laugh.

Well i just complained to rottentomatoes.com, I loved using their site for movie reviews, and prolly still will, but now that I know about the HD section.. I am going to make sure they regret not mentioning Blu-ray and make sure no one uses them for anything related to games, rentals, DVDs, or HD.
For crying out loud, it is a movie review and news site, not a propaganda site!
