Default PS3 need IGN help??

Quote:
For two game generations, Sony established itself as the industry leader: the popularity of the PSone carried over to the rampant success of the PS2. Of course, many people expected a similar situation for the PS3, but the transition for the latest system hasn't been as seamless as people expected. While its best of times from the past two consoles hasn't lead to a worst of times now, Sony has committed a number of mistakes, such as a reversal on its backwards compatibility policy, a loss of system exclusive titles and a staunch refusal to counter price drops by competitors. These stumbles have helped Microsoft strengthen its position as a rival in the HD gaming arena, and has also helped Nintendo reestablish itself as a major player to be reckoned with.

So what's Sony to do? While the company isn't even close to dire straights, it would rather be on top looking down than sitting at the bottom and looking up. Fortunately, there's still time for the company to assert its dominance and start to conquer its competition. Below, we've outlined five companies that could help save Sony's standing in the gaming industry, as well as pointed out what games they could make for the gaming giant that could turn its position around. Think of it as a holiday gift from us to them...

I could post the entire article, but its pretty long. The short story : they are suggesting that Capcom, EA, Konami and Square Enix should do exclusive games to help ps3. And they say Sony should drop the price and add more psp-ps3 connection...

This article is really strange... Is PS3 really need help to survive?

No, PS3 doesn't need help to survive... It has sold as many units as the 360 did in its first two years (or close to it)...

It's just another example of the kiss-ass attitude towards the 360...

Sony is fine, but when you compare what the PS1 and PS2 did compared to PS3 in it's early stage and subsequent stages there's a difference. PS3 is growing stronger everyday and this article clearly indicated what needs/could be done so it regains it's rightful crown and goes back on top.

Well I personally know more people that own a PS3 than a 360 or a PS2. In fact a manager that works for the company I work for is the only person I have ever met that has a 360 (well apart from my brother but that's only because his girlfriend bought him a 360 for Christmas way after he'd bought a PS3 himself). People I know have a PS3 when they've never had a console before. To me it seems like it's doing just fine.

Annoying, misleading headline to draw the reader in, then explain what you really mean.

The sort of journalism I despise.

As stated, Sony is no where near dire straights. I am amazed at how well PS3 has been doing since its first year. True, it didn't sell well in the first year, but that has picked up exponentially in the second. Plus, with the great games that are out (MGS4, R2, Uncharted to name some), as well as potentially great ones in the future (Killzone 2, FF13, GT5) I am fairly confident that the PS3 will do just fine.

hes right about one thing
Square, Capcom, and Konami need to quit circle jerking themselves around MS's bribe money and make some exclusives for Sony.

Atleast Konami has (and made an amazing one at that)

I also hate the kind that stretches an article onto multiple pages, so they can get the maximum amount of page loads out of you (and for their advertisers). I'm not sure that kind has a name.
