Yes...this was just announced today as coming to the PS3....

here's a quote from the last Fan Faire show..

He then goes to say that there will never be any numbers, with WoW, Habbo Hotel and Lineage included, that will ever touch the numbers we'll see in Free Realms.

More importantly... when he says "bigger" does he mean that the world will be bigger or that it will be more popular?

To become more popular than WoW effectively means to either replace it or else attract a different demographic entirely. And that is a very big claim knowing the behemoth monstrosity that WoW is.

Sorry im unfamiliar with WoW or any other MMO. what is this "no numbers"?

world may be bigger or whatever that bigger means. It's not gonna be bigger though, I don't care how big console market is, MMO on console will not get the size of that on PC

consoles are an untapped resourse when it comes to MMO's. A good one could get a lot of people that never got into them into it now.

I'm pretty sure that they...actually, I don't really know myself. Thanks a lot for screwing up my mind.

Maybe it's something to do with the price, probably it might have no subscriptions that scare off people.

I'm basicly the same thing. I'm too much of a cheapskate to subscribe myself. I might get DC universe too though if it doesn't require money. Give me Batman for gods sake!

Looks really good, it'll have an optional monthly fee, but you'll be able to play for free. The PS3 version will apparently come a little after the PC version.

im not, nor have i ever been a WoW player but those numbers broke records, that game grosses a retarted amount of money lol to say this we'll beat it is ballsy at best however i am intrigued at the idea

I like the concept of this MMO. It is clearly NOT a WoW-type MMO killer, it is oriented more for kids, girls anD guys who are a little fed up with fighting and want to take a little time to do some peaceful exploration. As one of the developers suggested, Free Realms is a mixture of different things put together - basic MMO exploration, Nintendog type of petting, Animal Crossing and a bunch of mini-games. I only wonder whether these differnt types of gaming would be combined seamlessly and naturally, or will still stick out as separate sore thunbs.
Certainly a good idea to have this game on PS3. I wonder btw whether PC and PS3 gamers will be playing on the same or different servers.

Review from IGN for the PC version.

9.0 Presentation
The interface is easy to follow albeit detailed. The tutorial gives a very solid understanding of the mechanics of the game. It’s made so children can understand what’s going on and it succeeds.
9.0 Graphics
Bright and colorful, even in the spookier areas, is a perfect art style for a title targeted at a younger audience.
7.0 Sound
It does its job, although most adults will find themselves turning it off.
9.0 Gameplay
There are a great variety of jobs to pursue, plenty of quests and several non-job related activities to play through. Basically, there’s a ton of great gameplay.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
It’s an MMORPG and expectations of new content and changes to existing content means this could be a game to play for many many years.
8.8 Great OVERALL
