It will be available that way soon enough, it's just a limited edition giftset for Valentine's day, and until retailers can't sell anymore.

You could import it if it ends up being region free.

I would buy it if it at least came in a regular case inside that gift set, but as I heard it doesnt I will not buy it. It is a shame because its on my top 5 of favorite movies nd I bet it looks awesome on blu ray!

So you're saying The Notebook is one of your favorite movies, and you won't be buying it because you don't like the packaging? I'm sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever. If you like the movie, get the blu-ray! Packaging is a very minor issue, we buy blu-rays to watch the films not to sit around looking at how they look on a shelf.

that reminds me of another poster that refused to buy Pineapple Express because there was a BD sticker on the case lol You're seriously going to let a sticker get in the way of buying a great movie?? haha

i hear ya tho, one of your top movies? why not buy some empty BD cases and make your own custom case? =O

Is this available in Canada? Amazon.ca is saying 11-13 days before shipping, I went to Walmart, nothing there in the boxes yet to be put out and it's not on the BB or FS website..

*update* a quick look at the HMV computers show Feb 3

The disc is on the last page of the book.

Does the disc have a digipack holder in the last page of the book (i.e. a plastic hub to safely sit in)? Or is it some kind of sleeve, where you have to slide the disc in and out?

If it's a digipack holder, like the way there's a plastic hub in the Warner DigiBooks, I'll pick this up. If not, I'll wait for the eventual re-release. I don't have problems with packaging as long as the disc is safe - but sliding in and out of a sleeve is not a-ok in my book.

The Notebook collectors edition box is large enough to hold a case of feminine napkins! There is no place on my BD shelf for packaging this size... especially considering that it is for just one movie. I will have wait for the inevitable single BD case release.

That's a sort of obtuse way of looking at what the OP was saying.

It seems to me that he just doesn't want all that junk that comes with it (and in all likelihood ups the price). As a matter of fact he stated his dislike with all the extra crap in the opening post.

Best Buy has it for $34.99 and it is limited edition so the cost probalby reflects the extra crap.

I like the movie too but I'm not handing over the dough when they might release the regular BD at a latter date. Just b/c peoople feel that way doesn't mean that we aren't "real fans" oh might movie guru.

I just picked it up at bestbuy for $28. That thing is alot bigger than I though. I thought it was going to be the size of maybe the batman begins collectors edition. Nope !!!! It's about twice that size. I'd say it's about as big as the matrix trilogy on blu.

Can anyone please confirm if the UK release will be the gift set (I'm thinking not as it's priced at 9.99 pounds on UK Amazon) and if it is region free??
