The sequel to the hit 2009 animation, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, is now available to pre-order in two different sets. Just like the first film, it was released in September and is expected to be released on Blu-Ray in January 2014.

Does the 3D blu ray combo have a seperate 3D & 2D blu ray + dvd? Or could it be a flipper disc?

Won't be a flipper disc.
Sony usually puts 2D + 3D versions on the same disc. So the 3D disc can be played in 2D on 2D players.

Not necessarily. I know Smurfs 2 and Hotel Transylvania had separate discs for 2D and 3D. Both Sony releases.

I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it wasn't the greatest. It was definitely a bit of a let down, even though I tried to keep my expectations in check, knowing that Lord and Miller weren't writing and directing it. Visually, it was just as inventive if not moreso than the first, but it lacked almost everywhere else, unfortunately. I still think it was decent, so I'll get it once it goes down to a reasonable price.

The first movie is really an underrated gem though. Visually, it is one of the most impressive of all CGI films. In terms of use of color, and exaggerated, cartoony designs and animation. But not only that--it manages to be silly, funny, touching, and heartwarming at the same time. And there's a real air of sincerity to it, which is refreshing as American animated family films seem to increasingly rely on sarcastic and almost cynical humor. (Not that that kind of humor is a bad thing, but there is just kind of a glut of it.)

Is the cheapest price of the 3D version really $29.96?! Sheesh. I really want to see this movie, but I think I'll have to wait for a bit of a price drop.
