Default Samsung BD-P2400

I have been so heavily anticipating the release of this player that it's not even funny! I already have 5 blu-rays (from the buy-a-thon ) and a brand new Sony KDL46V3000 but I don't have a player! I know that BB carries the BD-P1400 but places like amazon still do not. I was wondering if anyone has seen a BD-P2400 on the shelf anywhere or if anyone has any information regarding the release date. I'm getting this thing as soon as it comes out, so any info is much appreciated!!

You still have some time to wait. The original date was going to be Oct. But it looks like at CEDIA it was pushed to Nov.
I would post the links but one post I put a link in still has not appeared. If you go to the AVS forum blu-ray section there is a post there and I have links pre and post CEDIA off the same site showing the spec sheets.

Actually, I was checking Amazon today for Blu-ray players, and they do have the BD-P1400 for $422 and free shipping which is the lowest price for this player on the net.

Has anyone had any problems with it? How much better is it than the 1200?

Umm, you do realize that this is a BD-P 2400 thread?? If you want to know about the 1400, go to a 1400 thread.

Here's a link I found for the 2400...@ $469 w/ free shipping!!! Almost as cheap as the 1400. It's not available yet as of today, but that's an awesome price considering the $600 MSRP.

I called and they said it would be available the 3rd week in Oct. Now I don't know whether to wait or instantly gratify myself with the 1400

Personally, I'm holding back all "urges" for the 2400.

Then it will be me, my blu-rays and the 2400 in one big ass, chandelier swinging orgy!

HAHA!!! I am also thinking about buying the samsung HT-AS720ST home theater system. Not sure if it is a good buy though. I am new to all of this, but since I have a samsung TV and soon will have a either the 1400 or 2400, I feel I should go with their new theater in a box. Just for Anynet. Any thoughts?

I would not believe it until they had it in their hands. Since according to Samsung it is Nov.

They changed the date at CEDIA. I am betting you are getting the pre CEDIA date right now. Best Buy has Oct. 21 as the date for both this player and the 5000. And I donot believe them either.

It has to be in October otherwise they will not be able to release it without complying with Profile 1.1 specs.

As yet the profile spec is unannounced according to E Media.
