Hoping for a matching SteelBook, but I won't hold my breath.

I watched the first season, but didn't make it to the 2nd one.
it was cancelled obviously, and it was pretty abrupt.
Did the writers manage to wrap everything up or is everything left up in the air?

I'm a huge V fan (original series) and I tried to like this one, it has good moments but the plot didn't get shape in two seasons. The series seemed without a course and worst of all, V was cheap and it showed.
As I'm a huge V fan, I bought the first season on BD and I have pre-ordered the second one also.

I watched the entire first season and thought it was pretty mediocre (even worse that FlashForward), so I didn't watch the second season. based on what I've been reading, I didn't miss much.

The second season is pretty forgettable, though I did stick with it until the end. Amazing that Warner decided to complete the series on Blu-ray, I doubt this sells much.

Steelbook would be nice, but I agree with you, it probably won't happen.

I liked the show... even with its flaws... but it never found an audience, so I can't argue with its cancellation.

It would be nice if we got another Best Buy exclusive steelbook to go with season 1... but I would be surprised if that happens for a cancelled series.

As a fan of the original V, I was very excited for this new series. It took awhile for me to get into it though. I think it moved a little slow and I wanted it to be a little more like the original series. The ending was very disappointing! Not sure if I will ever buy either season on blu.

Doubt it gets a steelbook, but I will be picking this up, I enjoyed season 2 even with its holes and mediocre development.

If season one was a missed opportunity, season 2 was a missed opportunity by a team that knew better.

It ended on a cliffhanger with the hopes it would force ABC to renew it for a 3rd season, which didn't happen. I watched both seasons, but I would never pick this up and watch it again.

And thats why purchasing a disc set for a series that leaves you hanging makes no sense at all. We were really getting into this show too. What a bunch of BS. They cancel this show but the same old CSI crap, hospital crap, and lame comedies get green-lighted every year. I know why though - Sci Fi costs money to produce and dramas dont. You can shoot a drama in a few rooms. Not so with Sci Fi.

Oh well.

Pretty much most of the flaws of the series was rectified with the 2nd season finale. I don't want to spoil it but annoying characters were all disposed of.

Scifi cost money but as well only bring in small numbers in viewers in many cases compare to CSI/Grey's Anatomy. You can dislike shows of that type but they make tons of money cause a heck of a lot of people watch them compared to something like V

If you mean
[Show spoiler]Tyler,
I'm pretty sure they got rid of him as a final fan service, since no one liked him. I'm sure they knew at that point that the show was going to be cancelled.

Well - that may have been true years ago but I feel Sci Fi has been able to successfully get away from the "nerds-only" problem to being much more approachable by more people. BattleStar Galactica(the new one) proved that you CAN please just about everyone all the time if you sprinkle some human elements and some emotional weight into the show. If you just go straight to the techno-babble and wormhole discussions...you are done.

The thing I dont get with all that CSI stuff is that....its the same damned show every week. They find a toenail stuck in a tree trunk and within 46 minutes they figure out that some guy named "Bob" did it. Its probably cool sometimes but..... these shows have no end in sight. Like you said though - if thats what viewers want then so be it. Ive never been a fan of episodic TV shows. Everything resets each week. Serial shows are much better, IMO. Especially if they have a solid story-arc like BSG did.

It just angers me that shows like Firefly and V get nuked but the same old Police/Hospital stuff has no end.

I liked this series.

I'm going to buy season 2 and put it up on the shelf next to firefly, Sarah Connor chronicles and dollhouse in my own little private bone yard filled with awesome dead shows.

Who knows...it might get picked up again one day. Not likely, but we can dream.

I'd like to see Morena Baccarin in something soon.
