Default question on hi-def digital cable...

Hey all,

Which one of the premiere movie channels offer the best selections? Which ones offer the best quality or all they all pretty much the same? My cable company offers the following - HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax. I'm thinking about ordering a couple but not all. Thanks in advance.

Quality wise in terms of PQ should all be the same, HBO has the best line up of shows and Showtime would come in second...Starz is crap and Cinemax I dont know about.

I always seemed to find that the one I didn't have had the best selection If I'm not mistake, HBO comes packaged with Cinemax with a lot of companies. HBO has a lot of shows, where the rest focus more on movies. My order would be HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, then Starz. Just depends on what you watch I guess. You can usually look up programming guides for like a whole month on their websites, I know HBO still puts out the guide for hotels, and that's for a whole month.

HBO seems like they have a whole bunch of channels. The rest I got from the Charter Movie Tier (only thing I don't have is starz because that's a separate package).

If you are going strictly for movies, I think Cinemax is the way to go. HBO and Showtime have more time dedicated to actual programming than being a movie channel.

When Starz had Universal as an exclusive studio it was worth having. Now that Universal is with HBO/Cinemax, I don't see the value. Most of the movies they run, I have on Blu-ray.

For me, it is Cinemx first. HBO and Showtime for original programming.
