Default Amazon Distribution Facilities List

Well, for the first time ever, I will not be getting a release on the day of release. Kinda peeved but oh well. So, I decided to start a running list of distribution facilities for Amazon to see what the scoop is on who gets what when.

That way, we can save money or spend money as needed depending on which facility sends out what. So, instead of buying next day for 3.99, we can do 2 day for free and get it on release day. Or vice versa.

Here is what I have thus far..

USA:

TULSA OK
(Services - NE, VA)

NEWARK DE
(Services - MD, VA)

WILMINGTON DE
(Services - NE)

LEXINGTON KY
(Services - AL, MI, NJ, VA)

JERSEY CITY NJ
(Services - CT, NY)

HORSHAM PA
(Services - CT)

SPARKS NV
(Services - AZ)

If you have an item on order and have Prime and chose 2 day - post here with your facility.

If anyone can tell me if Prime shipments 2 day and next day, come from the same facility as standard non prime shipments that would be good.

Thanks!

My copy of The Day After Tomorrow was shipped yesterday from the KY facility with a delivery date of tomorrow. I ordered it last Friday using my free trial of Prime and paid the extra $3.99 for one day delivery. I wonder why they wouldn't have shipped it from Newark, DE being that I live in Marlton, NJ.

I have Amazon prime and usually get my 2 day shipments in 1 day due to being in Baltimore, MD and the facility being right in Newark, DE

That's what I am hoping to find out. I have the same issue. Mine is also shipping from the KY facility. Not sure why when there are much closer facilities. I think it's a stock/supply issue.

I"m a prime member and almost always get my 2-day shipping in 1 day.

I'm in Edmond, OK and it's only about 90 miles to Tulsa straight down a 75mph turnpike with minimum traffic.

It's really handy.

Well I guess that's why I get my stuff so quick. The military mail goes out of New Jersey. I don't know of another business that can ship to my local as fast as Amazon.

I just signed up for the month trial of Prime. I have 5 packages on the way, so I'll post when I get them on Wednesday.

I pre-ordered Memoirs of a Geisha and Black Book. I choose free shipping and I'm still waiting for my movies. I do enough orders to make prime worth it. The free shipping used to be great, but it's falling off big time of late (at least for me).

I have Prime, and 2 day shipping. I live in CT and usually get things the day after they ship.

If you guys are going by the first step of the tracking number, then I've seen the NJ distribution point before. Right now I have 2 Blurays coming to me, and both are coming from Horsham, PA

Yes, the first part of the tracking where it says "Picked up from shippers facility".

Thanks for you contribution! Added to the list.

Since joining Prime I have received every new DVD on the day of release using only the "free" (but paid for) 2-day shipping; I'm outside Birmingham, AL and my shipments come from the Lexington, KY facility. We'll see if that holds true for my upcoming BD pre-orders...

Me too. I pre-ordered FF2 in Blu a few weeks ago, but not only have I not received a notice from amazon.com that they've shipped it to me, I've not even had my Debit card account dinged yet (which tells me that they are about to notify me that my order is about to ship). I ordered Planet Earth on Friday morning, and I just got the ding on my Debit account but no email yet from amazon that it's about to ship. Likely tomorrow it will ship.

Even when the stuff is in stock, amazon now seems to wait a few to several days before getting around to shipping an order out. But the shipping is free, so it's rather punky of me to complain.

In the past I have also seen UPS packages shipped to the Lawnside, NJ shipment facility. I'm assuming this is the local distribution point for some South Jersey packages. Can anyone confirm? For The Day After Tomorrow my product also went through SOUTH CHARLESTON,WV, US

I am only going by the origin scan (first county, state) on the UPS tracking list.

Everything after that is UPS and their facilities (as far as I know).

I have Prime and usually get everything day of release.
from Newark De facility to NJ. It's a beautiful thing.

By the way you can sign up multiple users or family members on one prime account. So if you get together with your buds and split the cost of prime you all save tons on shipping and all the movies are shipped out 1-2 days prior so you get them on release day. It will work with multiple accounts and addresses. The primary account holder just has to invite you in with your account e-mail. Food for thought.

I would like to point out than anything you preorder during the Prime trial will still retain the free shipping even if you cancel your Prime membership and the item isn't scheduled to ship until after the trial expiration date. Mine expired on the 26th and a preorder that shipped yesterday (Oct 1st) was shipped 2-day for free (according to UPS it's out being delivered as I type).

I couldn't justify $79 for a year membership...though the 2-day delivery is cool since I've been getting it the day after it shipped (which to me equates to overnight delivery). Maybe I'll fit it into the budget after the holidays.
