would this be pal spec? is that still an issue with this HD stuff?

Just saying...would it be possible to firmware flash a US spec model to UK spec 300?

I'm guessing the 300 here will get hooked up regardless, but if it doesn't it may be a way to weasle out some features Sony may choose to rob us of.

If the USA cant get dolbytruHD & DTS-HD ?ma? on there S300/S301 then there are going to be alot of pissed off americans !!!

Where in that does it say that it will do MA.
It says Digital audio out.
I see the TrueHD.

Which I would read as this spec from DTS.

DTS-HD Digital Out™
DTS-HD Digital Out denotes the ability to output DTS-HD High Resolution Audio streams to an external decoder such as an A/V receiver or pre-amp/processor. Use the logo shown at right.

It is another case of DTS and the crappy labeling system they have.

For it to decode DTS it would need this one.

DTS-HD 2.0 + Advanced Digital Out™
DTS-HD 2.0 + Advanced Digital Out denotes the dual ability to output DTS-HD Master Audio streams to an external decoder such as an A/V receiver or pre-amp/processor as well as output DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Lossless channels directly to a TV or external amplifier through analog outputs. Use the logo shown at right.

And for bitstreem of MA this one.

I have spent way too much time at the DTS site so I can find a player to replace my 1200 with to get all the new audio.

I was waiting for the 2400 since for standalones it was the best prospest to be 1.1 or even 2.0. But since it looks like it was cancelled I am not sure now. I donot need the player to decode for me since I upgraded my receiver this year.
