Default U-571 is region free

I can verify that U-571 is region free. It plays fine on my region A Playstation 3. It has the region code B printed on the cover but it does play in region A-players. The movie is distributed by Entertainment in Video and I guess all or most of their titles are region free but has the region code B printed on the cover. I'll test some more discs later. So far I have only tested Lucky Number Slevin and U-571 and both are region free. Have Brookeback Mountain and The Crow on backorder. Will maybe order Gangs of New York also.

Can't tell. It only say DTS-HD and I don't have a HDMI-receiver.

I'm no videophile and can't say anything about the PQ-quality on my equipment but it looks like it's the same codec as on HD-DVD version. The bitrate is usally between 15 and 20 Mbps which is quite low.

I have a region B-player also so I have no problems to watch Gangs of New York either way

But because I already own Gangs of New York on DVD and you have said that it is region coded I might order Hostage instead, I like Bruce

So far I have ordered most discs from SendIt.com and some from Amazon.co.uk

There is no need to say such things. The blu ray version of Slevin is for sale in UK. Sendit has it for sale and it is listed as region free on http://bluray.liesinc.net/

The back-cover says "DTS 5.1 HD Master Audio".

Cover look horrible, by the way.

Sweet, than I shall buy this one to replace my HD-DVD (only if my PS3 ends up decoding DTS-HD though).
