Default Is Blu-ray.com the most premiere Blu-ray forum on the net?

since AVS and HDD picked the wrong side? and now their side is DEAD.

so are we? we got a few industry insiders as members, I don't think any other site can boast that figure

At this point - insiders are pretty much useless except for "coming soon" releases or big secret titles.

Other sites will switch and crop up so it's no problem. Blu-Ray.com had a monopoly for a bit - however as it goes, things change - people move on and new sites come online

I think we are anyway mate, like you said we've got some great industry insiders not only joining the debates but also there to ask questions to, we've got some really hard working (and as importantly passionate about blu-ray) fair mods here. We've also got a big membership here too. First and last place I come to on the net everyday..

I would say so. We have to give major props to Josh, the insiders (PM especially), and all the great contributors on this site that have made it what it is today. I remember the dark days in the summer of 2006 after BD stumbled out of the gate and before the PS3 launch. It wasn't pretty. But with a lot of hard work here and some great marketing and business moves by Sony, the blu-ray format and blu-ray.com are looking good right about now. HDD was never that big of a deal IMHO and AVS has really gone downhill thanks to the red ant infestation of the last 2 years. Blu-ray.com is the standard by which all other BD sites will be measured.

I certainly hope that Blu-ray.com remains the premiere website for Blu-ray. I see no reason why it shouldn't. Blu-ray.com and Digital Bits were two sites that were classy during this "format war" and hopefully the integrity they displayed will pay off for them.

As for me, I'll continue to be a regular visitor to this site. I'm sure the Insiders (and Blu-ray.com has by far the best collection of true Blu-ray insiders of any website) will continue to grace the site also. I anticipate continued growth & influence for Blu-ray.com.

If I was at all qualified to speak as a relatively impartial technologist, I would say that Blu-ray.com has been remarkably open, remarkably insightful and remarkably right on many fronts. I think that happened because the basic truth was on Blu-ray's side; there was no FUD, no 'spin' necessary to make BD look good. It just needed people who knew what they were talking about speak the truth and that happened here.

It's kind of a "From the mouth of babes" situation in the sense that a small community had more things right than the bigger yet more dogmatic institutions.

I expect some of those other sites to make a large comeback, as they were not just exclusive to the media, but the entire home-theater experience: Blu-Ray and DuD were just part of that experience.

The other thing is.. the institutional forums were never supposed to pick sides! They were supposed to be impartial. Now they just look like fools.

This site is ABSOLUTELY the premier blu-ray site on the net. More news than even the BDA site. Insiders, mods and members make this the best site for all things blu.

When was this site/domain founded/purchased? IE: How old is this site?

I noticed that Blu-ray technology has been around since 2002...
