Default Power DVD Ultra - Worth It?

Wondering if anyone uses this? Worth the price?

Using Power DVD DX that came bundled with my Dell and it's lacking quite a few features I would like.

I only got it because it appeared to be the only player out there that could properly handle BD. Being a long-time PowerDVD user, I figured I couldn't go wrong. I can't claim to have worked it too hard yet (my wife has the laptop most of the time and I haven't added a BD drive to my desktop yet), but in Cyberlink's favor, they have already come out with a number of updates to fix the minor things that pop up with a newly evolving technology like this, so they do appear to be responding well.

yes, it's worth the money. alternatively, you might also consider WinDVD 8 Platinum (HD Edition) with higher minimum requirement. It's more expensive.

Anyone know why you can't capture an image from the BD movie in PowerDVD ? Is this a security feature now? You can from DVD but not BD. Kinda sucks

It's a requirement by studios.

Apparently someone went thru the trouble of writing a script that captured, frame by frame, an entire HD movie (mind you there's no sound, I guess they ripped the DVD version's audio track)

I use it, otherwise it's a nice piece of software, though it has it's issues. I have had more issues with WinDVD however, so Cyberlink remains the better solution.

Yeah, I am using it now. It's kinda "glitchy" but that is to be expected since BD is "new". Other than that, it seems to be ok.
