Question Transformers

Transformers has been the top selling High-Def disc on amazon for quite some time (although breifly pushed to 2nd by Fantastic Four). Now I'm sure the Spider-man Trilogy will push Transformers out of the way soon enough (at least it better) and that will be the last we see of an HD DVD on top. However, i do not understand why Transformers is doin so good. The movie overall was enjoyable but certainly not the best movie this year, and im surprised it has held the number one spot for as long as it has considering it has not been released yet. One theory i had was maybe the HD DVD guys were buying it mostly for its "reference quality" picture (assuming they do a good transfer the action scenes could be promising). But the movie has so many close-ups during the action scenese that its hard to tell what is goin on half the time. There was almost no wide shots during any of the action sequences. Not something I would orgasm about in HD. Any thoughts as to why it is so succesfull?
