NBA Live 08 - Blu-ray Forum

Hey, just wondering if anyone here has picked up NBA Live 08 for PS3. If so what are your thoughts. The reviews have been pretty harsh on the game...as usual a little harsher on the PS3 version. Is it really bad like most reviews have stated. Can anyone comment if they notice a lag in game play or does it actually play well. I played the demo and actually liked it.

Well first out of the gate, lagging is deffinitely an issue while playing online with live. Not really a complaint but it's the truth. I bought both live and sony's 08 B-ball title and sony's 08 performs much better online than live. I geuss there will always be lagging in online play to some degree,just more on some titles than others for whatever reason. I think alot of people buy live because of the franchises popularity but popularity alone wont keep a fanbase for long if the product never improves. In closing I Would deffenitely pick up
sony's o8 Basketball game. It's a real baller's game.

NBA Live has been going downhill for the last couple of years. I would recommend checking out NBA 2k8. If it's anything like 2k7, it's going to be awesome.

I suggest you try and download the demos for for the games on PSN and try them there. Granted they aren't a finished game but it will give you a good idea of what it is you want and the best part? They're FREE.

Yeah, that's what I did. I liked NBA 2K7 better last year but after playing all 3 demos from PSN, I decided to start out with NBA Live 08 this time around. I just picked up 2K8 yesterday though and will probably eventually get NBA 08 also.

If I could combine all 3, it would be the perfect b-ball game (graphics of NBA Live 08, gameplay/controls of 2K8, smoothness of 08).
