The CDWOW USA site shows it to be region B from Australia. The last Blu-ray I got from Australia ended up being region A, B, even though it stated region B. Who knows for sure right now. CDWOW USA has it for $26.99 with free shipping.

Just to confirm what has been said here in this thread. I received the UK version of Tora Tora Tora this past week. The film worked great on my US player.

My father and I really enjoyed this movie on his 65" HDTV. The last time I saw this moving it was on an old 19" CRT TV many, many years ago. I just wish the ending was a little better for the Americans in the movie, but you can't change history.

Default Tora! Tora! Tora!

Get the title right, you have to use exclamation marks or it doen't work! (see!)

This release seems to have fallen off the planet in the UK and looks to be a dupe of mainland Europe release http://www.dvd.nl/reviews.php?reviewid=4064 and http://www.hd-reporter.de/blu-ray-re...-tora-blu-ray/

Not seen the movie in years so I'll upgrade my Stelbook DVD just for the "longer Japanese cut" alone.

From what I gather it looks to be a top notch transfer too.

Pity the UK Blu-ray is so darn expensive especially as it's only €9,97 at Amazon.de http://www.amazon.de/dp/B002NTFJ0C

Any news on a US release? I would think they might have one with the 70th anniversary of the attack coming up. Also, surprised Midway is not out anywhere.

Well the reports are that the extras must be in PAL so they aren't working in U.S. players although the movie does. Its cheap now, but I will wait until the fall. I'd like to see Midway released too.

Who says there are PAL extras? I thought the extras are in NTSC or HD for this title.

Go look at Region Coding (second report) and also the second review. One says his TV says it won't support the signal, the other that the extras don't work. There is PAL based HD with a different fps then NTSC based HD.

There were also reports about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq -I'm still waiting for the evidence on that.

Can someone actually say for sure? I'd be pretty well amazed if Fox are releasing a disc pressed for world-wide consumption with content that can't be played in some territories. I suppose it could be an error on their part and this is why it may have not been released in the USA/Canada. If my Mother had balls she'd be my Father.

Let's wait until it arrives and I'll test it in my US and UK setup.

Not unless the U.S. isn't getting the extended Japanese version which sounds like it has an ending Japanese audiences will prefer more then Americans. Note that there has been an HD version, obviously cleaned up, out on TV for almost 2 years. It is the American version. Of course it may have been just scanned for TV, I think Starz or HD Net showed it, but it wasn't just run through the scanner, they had done some restoration on it.

Picture Format: PAL, [HD] High Definition from:

Linking to a site where people's first langauge is Cantonese with a few employees thrown in with international English isn't very good evidence.

That's further confirmed because they list countries where SECAM (neither PAL nor NTSC) is (or until very recently was) the local television standard. Yes, I'm sure those people are multi-standard like most ofthe world but it doesn't make sense listing it. I think YesAsia are just covering themselves.

I'll post when I get my disc.
