IMDb says:
# DreamWorks SKG (2007) (USA) (all media)
# Warner Bros. Pictures (2007) (non-USA) (all media)

So no Blu-Ray for USA.

You should be able to order it from Europe. It'll probably be region-free.

Keep in mind guys, it's a musical. But it looks very much in the tone of Sleepy Hollow, but with Depp as an evil character....and...it's a MUSICAL....

I can't wait to see it!

Come on people... Tim Burton? Johnny Depp? The only thing this movie has against it is the lack of Danny Elfman (which is understandable).

For those who are interested:

Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a Tony Award-winning musical with a book by Hugh Wheeler and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The musical is based on the 19th-century legend of Sweeney Todd, and specifically upon the 1973 play by Christopher Bond.

The movie is based on the Stephen Sondheim play, and looks to be pretty faithful. I have been looking forward to this one for awhile

Yeah, Sondheim writes things like musicals.

Oh, can do better than that:
Want to rent the entire original like-it's-a-musical stage production, ahead of time?

(Particularly as Angela Lansbury happens to be one of Broadway's legendary hall-of-fame Name-Identified-Retired-Roles for her part, while Burton is likely going to try and turn Helena Bonham-Carter into some human-Corpse-Bride comedy relief...)

Well, the rest of the cast looks promising. It seems most peculiar to do Sondheim with a cast of non-singers, but one needn't be able to sing to sell a song. I've pretty much despised musical theatre for most of the past couple decades, but I can't deny Sondheim. I hope it's worth a look.

For those poo-poo'ing musicals...keep in mind it's not Dreamgirls or Chicago. If you don't know the plot, it's not usual musical fodder. It's about a deranged barber who slashes the throats of his customers, gives the corpses to the chick that owns the pie shop downstairs so that she can "dispose" of them in a way that will help her business.

I don't remember another slasher/cannibal musical...do you?

And furthermore, let's take a look at the art form itself. The music is there to help tell the story. It's a stylized way of bringing out emotions that couldn't be brought out in other ways. Characters sing when either a) emotions are too high to portray in any other way than song, b) the plot needs moving along and can't be done through conventional means, c) a character is performing a song. A and B are essential for a movie or stage show to be classified as a musical. The music isn't there to annoy.

Not all musicals are oom-pah oom-pah and Rodgers and Hammerstein "Oh What a Beautiful Morning' ". Not all musicals are Grease or Phantom. There's some really great, hair-raising stuff out there if you give it a chance.

And I think that Danny Elfman gracefully sat this one out. I'd be surprised if he wasn't somehow involved, even if he's not in the credits.
