Default Found TDAT & Surf's Up - load time question

I finally found The Day After Tomorrow at Best Buy today. It seems lately that BB are a week behind before they get all the new releases in the store, but I must say that this is a title well worth waiting for.

The PQ and sound are both 5/5. One of the best I have seen yet along with POTC's.

The only problem I have with TDAT is the load time. Again, just like F4 (SS) which was 2 to 3 mins, this title took almost 4 mins on my Sony BDP-S300. Tried it on my PS3 and it took about 15 secs. Both my S300 and PS3 have the most current firmware updates. The quality though is well worth the wait time to load and hopefully updates in the future will reduce the load times.

One more title I bought today is Surf's Up and the PQ is great for the most part, but alot of the darker scenes were very grainy. I'm not just refering to the flashback scenes, which were meant to look that way, but other scenes. It seems to go from a really strong transfer to weak in seconds. Just a heads up for those that care about this flick. Later.

I don't have planet earth BD's, but I heard they were good. When you get Surf's Up, check out the two shorts on there "Chubbchubb's". Pretty funny and looks great.

If it wasn't intentionally grainy, then it's impossible to be unintentionally grainy. This is because Surf's Up is a CGI film and the HD transfer was a direct-from-digital DI, that is no telecine was involved. It's grainy because they want you to believe in the documentary style of shooting. Apparently it worked really well on you.

Yes, they got me........................................not! ha ha I saw that in the extras how they tried to make it look that way and it's sweet the way they used a camera on a camera to shoot some of the scenes, but outside of that I'm still getting what looks like "grain" in alot of the darker scenes. You can really tell the difference from what I'm seeing and where they wanted that effect.

It could be my cheap plasmas!! Then again, it could be my old eyes. ha ha

By the way, I also picked up The Replacement Killers today and the transfer was very good. Most of the time the Mbps were in the mid 40's. This and The Day After Tomorrow seem to have some of the highest Mbps I have seen yet. Sweet! Later Fuad my Blu brother.

Yeah, try closer to 3 minutes. I think Waiting... took close to 5 minutes to load on my BDP-S1.
