Found: Shooter & Untouchables

I just happened to stop by my local f.y.e. and I found used copies of shooter($25.99) and the untouchables($19.99)...I watched Shooter because I've never seen it before to see what the whole big deal was. It was good, but do I keep it or see what I can get for it on ebay, then buy it when paramount comes back and re-release it?

I thought the film was a bit of a stinker personally unless you like seeing heads explode like watermelons because it does have more of that then any other film I can recall. But,... I bought it for the novelty. I'm keeping mine,.. not worth it to ebay it. Anyway,.. it's going to be back soon with Paramount and then it will be worth quite a bit less I expect.

Don't know if the untouch-ables with worth big bux on ebay but I rented it and didn't really like it. I think I used to like it like 10 years ago or something but it's boring now for me.

Awesome find!! I was searching for Shooter for a couple weeks. I wanted it for Chrsitmas, but got the SDVD instead. Of course it was next to impossible to find, but I got lucky at one of my local Blockbusters. They had a few new copies at the normal $34.99 price. While I didn't really want to pay that much for it, I really enjoyed the movie and knew I probably wouldn't find it again (until Paramount reissues it after they come back to Blu).

I see The Untouchables quite often.

But it doesn't matter; they're gonna be around again soon anyway.

Last month I would have offered you $40 for shooters, but with Paramount around the corner I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a used copy. In other words put it on ebay before you only get $10.

Err, a "used" film?.If the disc still works, don't see what the big distinction is with "new" or "used", unless the fancy packaging is really worth the extra cash.

those prices seem high for used titles. I've seen copies of Untouchables, for instance, for $19.99 brand new.

I'll tell you what, a used copy of "Shooter" is worth more than a copy you don't have. I'll believe that Paramount is putting it back on Blu-ray when I see it in the stores sitting next to "Song of the South".

Hey I have a copy of Shooter from Blockbuster total access. I mysteriously misplaced it so I guess I wont be able to find it until it actually comes back out on blu-ray, LOL

You can find these titles new at some stores you just have to go to stores that you would not think sells movies. Like at Borders I see these movies there all the time.

I never got around to Borders during my hunt, but I did check Barnes & Noble and they had a whopping 6 BD titles, which were secured behind the cashier and not even visible to consumers.

Jeez... shooter is out of print? I just got it off amazon at the standard price not too long ago.

I didn't really care for Shooter at all which caught me completely off gaurd as I thought I'd love it for sure. Also The Untouchables to me is the most overrated crime movie out there. Everything from Goodfellas, Departed, Scarface, American Gangster are far superior to this movie.
