United Kingdom Amazon's New Steelbook Packaging!

Kudos to Amazon.co.uk for their new packaging for Steelbooks. I had Immortals delivered yesterday and I must say I'm impressed. The box was bigger and really hard and rigid and the single steelbook was slotted into 2 cutout holes in the middle of the packaging so even with the biggest dent in the packaging it wouldn't come anywhere near the steelbook. Although I've never had a damaged steelbook from Amazon before I can safely say that I never will from now! If any Amazon staff have read this do me a huge favour please - SELL YOUR PACKAGING TO PLAY.COM!

Cool - I did yell at them after my Repo Man was damaged by a Yodel courier, and said they should confer with their German colleagues who bubble-wrap steelbooks first. Nice to know they're listening.

I haven't got any steelbooks due from Amazon for a few weeks, so I would also love to see this packaging

Well, at least I thought so, and I'm not high, so here it is:

It says not to open it... Is there a bomb in it or something?
And apparently it's also 'Certified Frustration-Free Packaging'. That's something official? XD

On the back it actually says it might contain an E-Flute(??)...

And this is the actual item, everybody, at least here, probably knows:

I think it's one of the best SteelBooks I've seen, very custom, very detailed, very nice.

Not sure if you can see, not very clearly, but it seems to come in some kind of special Steelcase-packaging now.
It's like it has this "holder" inside so that it's not tightly packed so it could be crushed I guess.
I take it they've had a lot of return in the past...
Really good package, Amazon.de is also using this.

Very nice indeed. Come to think of it...I might be getting my steelbook copy of Time Out in this type of packaging from Amazon France.

We shall see.

Thanks for the posts and the pix.

For the most part amazon UK runs circles around just about everybody in the states these days. Including amazon.

In my personal experience, if you order one blu-ray from Amazon.ca they will ship it in those bags. If you order two or more blu-rays they will ship it in cardboard packaging.
