Thumbs up Resistance: Fall of Man 2

Details on R:FOM 2:

"Aside from the first and last level, the game takes place entirely in the United States, where someone who may or may not be Sgt. Nathan Hale (who plays a role in the story) has to deal with the Chimeran invasion of the US in such places as San Francisco and Chicago. And there is a cliffhanger ending that sets up for a third title. Vehicles will be included in multiplayer this time around, one will be able to take to the sky with three new vehicles or boogie it down on the ground with the three vehicles from the first game's Campaign."

"There's even a tentative release date of November 2008. Again, it could all be pure speculation"

Link

I guess we all knew it was coming since the first was a huge success. Can you imagine R:FOM 2 and Killzone 2 releasing around the same time? Pure gaming bliss!

Edit: Speaking of Killzone 2, here is a bit of news on that from OPM:

"OPM writers were left amazed and remarking that Killzone 2 is a 'notch ahead' of anything else being done on consoles at the moment, which is ultimately a very good thing for PS3 owners"

Link

Awesome! I hope Sony is paying these guys well, if this came out next November that would be 3 games in three years (RFOM on launch, Ratchet and Clank this year and RFOM2 next) I don't know how they pump out games of this quality so fast. This is a no brainer purchase.

I would be VERY surprised if Resistance2 was released within 2 months of Killzone2... they are not that dumb.

I am little dissapointed with the suggested story as well.. as 1 kinda left off going into Europe with no mention of continental U.S., kinda looks more like a story rewrite to reach largest target market of gamers..

Also not too big on vehicles, part of what I liked online Resistance was the all man to man online action, vehicles can ruin that.. look at Socom series.. some series depend on vehicles, like warhawk... I guess we will see hoe the implement it, hopefully it does not take away from the good man to man battles..

I disagree. That first game ended with Hale destroying all the Chimera hives across the UK, and then being arrested by US forces. It'd be only logical for those US forces to return Hale to the US. I guess they could have sent him to France if they really wanted to, but having him return to the US isn't that illogical. I'll bet we see him invade Russia in the 3rd installment.

I think I will have to disagree as well. All the maps while he was fighting in the UK showed the Chimera growth as coming from Europe, never showed Chimera anywhere else.

Also I believe the black Ops where the ones that "arrested" Nathan at the end of one. I do not remeber they being attached towards any one goverment, like the U.S.

Also I beleive the U.S. soldiers where in this war, as it was related towards WWII, in which US soldiers where sent overseas to fight the enemy where they are, which is the Chimera where in the US, I would doubt we would have soldiers over in UK.

Exactly.

It would be cool to bring the story over to the USSR in the third. There are a lot of interesting sites that would stir up contraversy, like the UK Church debacle.

I don't believe the source although it may be true.

I'll believe it when one or more of these happen:

1. Insomniac issues an official press release
2. It's on the Insomniac podcase
3. I hear about in on NEOGAF where one of the programmers posts
