Why are these two joining up in such a way... you'd think they'd be enemies but here Sony is giving the heart and soul of the PS3 to the competition!

o.0 WTF?

Maybe Toshiba might make a BLU-RAY player in 2009 if they loose the war.

Cool $$

Sony has repeatedly stated that they WILL find a way to make the Cell chipset make them money. Don't be so sure that they are giving away the farm to Toshiba, Sony's not new to this game.

There isn't anything strange about this, Sony did the same thing with the PS2 chips, they sold the fab to Toshiba for a cool $1bn last time around and you couldn't do much else with the EE+GS combo. Not like the Cell+RSX anyway.

irony, they make cell processor along with sony and IMB, and it backstab themselves. PS3 sells well, and beat HD DVD

it's funny how companies at this level compete AND work together at the same time. Except when it's not funny like right now. Stop the madness Toshiba. Stop it.

Anything that makes money is good for business. Just ask Paramount.

It's business, nothing more.
Been done before, will happen plenty of times in the future.
Only fanboys read more into it.

The guys up top that make the money decisions, don't even know (or care!) about the "war" between red and blu.
They won't care until the money stops coming in.
